As a former college athlete, sales executive, and father of two, I thrived on living life to the fullest until a "nervous tick" in my left arm led to a life-changing diagnosis of young onset Parkinson's Disease in 2016 at age 42. The tick developed into a severe tremor affecting my left side, causing constant pain, embarrassment, and a sharp decline in my quality of life. I struggled with daily activities and business meetings, and intense situations like coaching my son’s basketball games became nearly unbearable. In 2020, I discovered a clinical trial for Focused Ultrasound, a promising new tremor treatment. Thanks to a supportive employer and a dedicated medical team at the University of Pennsylvania, I underwent this transformative therapy in June 2022. On June 9, 2022, I traveled to the University of Pennsylvania filled with hope but anxious about the procedure. During the MRI, I experienced intense physical and emotional strain. However, after the third sonication, I felt my tremors cease and my muscles relax for the first time in years. It was a profound moment of relief and stillness. Since then, I’ve shared my Parkinson’s journey and Focused Ultrasound experience at Capitol Hill, Princeton University, and Rock Steady Boxing. These encounters have shown me the hope my story brings but also highlighted the challenges many face in accessing this treatment. This realization led to the creation of the Be Still Foundation to address these issues and support others in need. https://www.bestill.foundation…

Alice A. Holstein, Ed.D was diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder at the age of 51, which interrupted her career and produced some 12 years of intense suffering with many manic episodes, many hospitalizations, thousands of dollars spent and overall, a bleak prognosis of recovery. She lives now, as an elder, with a full if careful life of extraordinary wellness despite still being on medication. She has a dramatic story to share about how she developed a revolutionary understanding of mental health recovery which she believes can be at least partially related to recovery with Parkinsons. In her presentation she will explain this potential correlation by first enumerating the comparisons, such as that she too was given a bleak prognosis and told that heavy medication was required. She also understands that Parkinson’s can often produce depression in those who suffer. Her thoughts can help people specifically deal with that diagnosis. Alice believes that illness in general should be treated as a whole person approach---holistically, to include mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social aspects. The medical profession does not proceed in this fashion. She accidentally discovered this more complete framework and has developed specific understandings that may be helpful to those dealing with Parkinsons. She also believes that recovery is partly a matter of developing one’s higher consciousness. Her ideas and words will likely challenge, inspire and encourage the listeners on this broadcast to continue and add to the kinds of things they already are doing to improve their conditions vs. degenerate. Her example serves as a beacon of hope to living a healthier life regardless of one’s diagnosis, going beyond present practices to achieve stronger wellness and increased satisfaction. Neurons are cells that contain mitochondria. Photobiomodulation energizes neuronal mitochondria, triggering a cascade of beneficial cellular functions. Potential benefits are neuroprotective effects, self-repair mechanisms and enhanced functionality. Vielight’s patented intranasal stimulation technology and microchip LED technology is an innovative tool for brain photobiomodulation developed by Vielight. My guest today is Vielight's CEO Dr. Lew Lim. Intranasal photobiomodulation is the most efficient method for light energy to reach the brain. Different from electrical and magnetic stimulation, photobiomodulation uses light energy (or photons) of specific wave lengths and power density to simulate cellular function. Vagus Neuro Duo The Vielight Neuro Duo is is the result of years of engineering and research. Clinical research with our technology has produced improvements in cognition, memory and blood flow. The Vielight Neuro Duo comes with both Alpha and Gamma modes. Gamma (40Hz): focus, memory, brain energy.Alpha (10 Hz): relaxation and sleep improvement. Vagus Device Recently introduced is Vielight's Vagus device which enables non-invasive stimulation of the vagus nerve (VNS) via photobiomodulation (PBM). This device was engineered to enhance brain-gut connectivity. For more information visit: https://www.vielight.com Enter Coupon Code healing4me to claim a 10% discount.…

Retired Australian Naturopath and parkinson’s sufferer, Ian Ridgeway will be explaining an unusual and unique therapy that regenerates stem cells using skin patches. When applied to the skin, they use the body's own heat to stimulate certain salts and sugars in nano particle size to reflect very specific light frequencies which then stimulates functions in cells. This is a form of phototherapy, or photobiomodulation. His latest patches stimulates an enzyme called Copper Peptide which activates our dormant stem cells. By the time you reach the age of 60yrs old, 60 – 90% of your stem cells are dormant. Inventor and founder and CEO of the company who sell them has put the technology into a small, affordable easy to use patch that you just place on your skin! David has around 80 patents on the technology and a similar amount of clinical studies using them. He even has worked out a way you can pay for and even make make money sharing with others. Ian, who was was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2019, reports that, So far says he sleeps far better and, can walk without a stick in his “on” times, have far more energy now able to work in his garden and orchard most of the day and his wife has more energy after they both have been using the patches for about 4 weeks of use. 1:04:00Dr. Christian Hageseth is an 82-year-old retired psychiatrist. His first symptoms of PD started 18 years ago, yet he only started taking L-Dopa 2 ½ years ago. He credits his success in slowing PD—almost to a halt—to his attitude, exercise, and practicing yoga. He directed his local PD support group from 2012 to 2019. During that time, the numbers of attendees went from thirteen to more than one hundred every month. Today he feels it is critically important for PWPs to avoid spending their time looking for for the next new drug to show up. Instead, he says to live life to its fullest. He reminds us that PD does not appreciably shorten the life span of PWPs. And he also reminds us that medications such as L-dopa do not increase longevity. He has always viewed PD as a challenge, not a curse.…

1:23:00Most people think about Parkinson's disease as being just what it's called: a disease — a distinct clinical entity, which can be treated as a thing to itself. In fact, however, like all the other diseases of aging, it's the result of the lifelong accumulation of specific kinds of cellular and molecular damage that happen to all of us as part of the biological aging process. PD results from specific kinds of aging damage accumulating in key parts of the brain and nervous system, but similar damage accumulates in other aging tissues, causing dysfunction in those local tissues; these degenerative processes get labeled "diseases" when they reach a tipping point and the tissue can no longer carry out its normal function. The good news is that we now have a strategy for preventing, delaying, and one day even reversing Parkinson's and other diseases of aging through the revolution in rejuvenation biotechnology: therapies that directly remove, repair, replace, or render harmless the damage of aging. By clearing out that damage from the tissues, functionality can be restored and youthful health and vigor with it. SENS Research Foundation https://www.sens.org is a 501(c)3 medical research charity that is working hard to accelerate the development of a comprehensive suite of rejuvenation biotechnologies, to bring the benefits as soon as possible to as many people as possible. My guest today is Michael Rae, Science Writer at SENS Research Foundation, and coauthor with cofounder Dr. de Grey of "Ending Aging:" http://www.amazon.com/dp/0312367074 http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01EBAP43C/…
Modern medicine uses biochemistry as the science of healing, but research is uncovering that Bioenergetics, an exciting, emerging area of 21st century medicine is a more effective, life-sustaining approach that heals all living systems. Your body is made up of 70-100 trillion cells, and these cells perform thousands of biochemical functions every day. But what controls the biochemistry of your body? Well, we now know that the answer is … Energy. Every living thing on the planet gives & receives energy including the cells in your body! This energy forms fields in your body we call collectively “Body-Field”. Your Body-Field transmits information to your cells’ own energy fields about what biochemical functions to perform and in what order - it is the “information-software” that directs your organism’s “energy-hardware”. When this energy is blocked, the information is also blocked or gets distorted, and your body ceases to function the way it should. https://www.juneva.com…

Dr. Mario E. Martinez, a clinical neuropsychologist, established the Biocognitive Science Institute™ in 1998. He developed a theory of mindbodyculture he calls Biocognition to suggests how cognition and biology coemerge with their cultural history in a bioinformational field that seeks maximum contextual relevance. Mario Martinez's theory of biocognitive science proposes that the brain learns to interpret symbols and their biological correlates from cultural contexts. He is the proponent of cultural psychoneuroimmunology (how cultural beliefs affect the regulation of nervous, immune, and endocrine systems). The plasticity of our brain allows for reversals of dysfunctional behavior learned from the cultural reality we weave to perceive our world. Biocognitive Science Institute www.biocognitive.com…

This is, to date, the most thorough exploration of the aetiological pathways (causes) leading to diagnosis with Parkinson's disease or similar neuro disorders. John Coleman's new book, Rethinking Parkinson's Disease, explains how and why trauma, toxins and stealth infections create symptoms diagnosed as a "disease", usually then treated without any further investigation into prodromal history, early life, toxic load or the possibility of infection. The major section of this work details strategies to create wellness and reverse the illness processes, much available to patients with little or no cost. Our immune system is our best defense against illness. Edwards, who founded the science of BioAcoustics, has determined that with the onslaught of the current pandemic, the body is in dire need of specific nutrients to help counter the Coronavirus. Two critical ones are glutathione and quercetin. A healthy immune system always needs these nutrients - and in the case of the Coronavirus, they are extraordinarily essential. Mattson's compositions contain Edwards' Frequency EquivalentsTM of glutathione and quercetin. Stochastic Resonance Therapy (SRT) was born in the German city of Frankfurt when Dietmar Schmidtbleicher developed a new training device for Olympic athletes. Since then, the whole-body vibration device he developed has been studied and shown to be effective in the treatment of Parkinson's motor symptoms. While you may have already heard of the benefits of vibration therapy and Parkinson's, chances are you haven't heard of SRT until now. SRT is different from other types of vibration devices. It delivers randomized and non-uniform oscillations and perturbations to the body, whereas all other devices on the market deliver uniform, sinusoidal vibrations. The random nature of SRTvibrations elicits the automatic stretch reflex in the muscles, which leads to postural adjustments being made in the spinal cord and the cerebellum (the part of the brain that automatically adjusts movement patterns). These adjustments keep the head still and the body upright while on the device. Hundreds to thousands of stimuli are delivered to the spinal cord and cerebellum in a matter of minutes. In the literature, SRT has been shown to decrease tremor and rigidity, improve postural control and balance, and lead to better gait patterns in Parkinsonian patients. What advice would you offer others experiencing Parkinson's? 8. Have you published any new books since we last spoke? Natural Therapies for Parkinsons: https://www.parkinsonsrecovery.org…
N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) is relatively inexpensive supplement that supports that body’s natural ability to produce glutathione. Glutathione is one of the body’ most important and effective antioxidants. Persons with Parkinson’s have significant oxidative stress which depletes levels of glutathione. This, in part, explains why they tend to have a significant deficiency of glutathione. Research studies find that NAC has been effective as a therapy for injuries to the brain in general as well as a therapy for addressing symptoms of Parkinson’s. Dozens of natural therapies are documented at my new online course What Really Matters https://www.blog.parkinsonsrecovery.com/what-really-matters/…

Balance issues and falls are not solely a question of muscular strength and coordination. Fall prevention depends on the functional integration of sight, sound and posture. Balance difficulties can be due to impaired eyesight. What can be done to correct issues with eyesight? Research reveals that the underlying reason for vision difficulties is inflammation. It follows that getting inflammation under control is the key to achieving an improvement in eyesight which in turn can improve balance and reduces the risk of falls. This interview with Jennifer Jones, a representative of Innovative Vision Products, addresses research by Dr. Mark Babizhayev PhD which resulted in the development of the groundbreaking natural cataract eye drop product called Can-C. An overview and background of this ground breaking research is discussed, followed by a detailed explanation of the use, application and research that supports the application of Can-C eye drops to reduce inflammation in the eyes and help clear cataracts for 90% of users as found by the research studies. Dr. Lew Lim discusses his new invention - the X-Plus photobiomudation device and its potential application for symptoms of Parkinsons Disease and Alzheimer's. It can be used in conjunction with the Vielight Neuro Gamma device that many listeners of Parkinsons Recovery Radio have already been using. Neurons are cells that contain mitochondria. Photobiomodulation energizes neuronal mitochondria, triggering a cascade of beneficial cellular functions. Potential benefits are neuroprotective effects, self-repair mechanisms and enhanced function. Vielight’s patented intranasal stimulation technology and microchip LED technology are innovative tools for brain photobiomodulation. Intranasal photobiomodulation is the most efficient method for light energy to reach the brain. Different from electrical and magnetic stimulation, photobiomodulation uses light energy (or photons) of specific wave lengths and power density to simulate cellular function. The company, Vielight, has generously offered followers of Parkinsons Recovery a 10% discount off orders of any of their photobiomodulation devices. Who was the first person to succeed in reversing all symptoms of their Parkinson’s disease? We obviously cannot know for sure, but naturopath doctor John Coleman, ND, was one of the first - if not the first to reverse his own Parkinson’s symptoms during the mid 1990’s. What is the story behind John Coleman’s recovery? How in the world did he figure out how to heal his neurological symptoms when no one else had succeeded before him? What therapies helped his recovery? Which ones did not? John answers these and other questions during this remarkable interview with him. This interview with John Coleman ND was originally aired on Parkinsons Recovery Radio in 2010. You will be surprised at his revelations about what made the most difference to the success of his recovery in this interview. John is the author of Stop Parkin’ and Start Livin‘. The mouth is subject to various insults that result in compromised areas such as ulcers, cuts, burns, etc. These can be caused by hot or sharp foods, infections, medical therapy, or disease conditions that may be limited to the mouth, or also affect other parts of the body. The health of the mouth also affects the rest of the body. The oral-systemic connection continues to be the subject of much scientific investigation. Conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and others are now known to be associated with the health of the mouth. TheraGel Oral Coating Rinse provides pain relief, protects wounded areas from contamination, and optimizes healing. It is drug-free and non-toxic and is safe to swallow. Not only does it provide excellent pain relief, but it can be also incorporated into the oral hygiene regimen to help keep the mouth clean and healthy, and thereby contribute to overall good health. Dr. John Hall is a co-developer of TheraGel, and will discuss the scientific basis behind the development of TheraGel, as well as the many uses and benefits provided by this revolutionary new product. Dr. Hageseth dates his first non-motor symptoms to 2004 when his sense of smell disappeared. In 2008 he developed severe constipation which he has had ever since. In 2011 he saw the emergence of a tremor in his right hand which progressed over the following year to involve his entire right side. It went on to include stooped posture, shuffling gait, and problems with balance. A neurologist confirmed his diagnosis in 2012. He tried three different medications over the next four months but discontinued each one due to side effects or lack of efficacy. His neurologist gave him one piece of advice: EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE. A year later many of his symptoms had regressed. He attributed his improvement to the intensity of his exercise and taking up yoga. He established his first website: Sweating Out Parkinson’s Disease. He intended to encourage other PWPs to follow his example. By 2014 he was doing so well that he had a DAT scan to confirm the diagnosis of PD. It was positive. Over the last year and a half, he explored why more people aren’t doing better with PD. It was then that he started to examine how the mind may influence the course of PD. Exercise is the key to living a full life with PD, But if the mind does not believe the degree of improvement that exercise can achieve. Then improvement will only go so far. Because of the problem of dyskinesia developing after five years on levodopa, he thinks newly diagnosed should pursue a program of great intensity and focus and manage their minds, so they realize they can live with PD and not require levodopa.Visit: www.shiftpdmind.com Youtube Channel…

1:08:00My Guest today is Bill McAnalley PhD, a passionate scientist whose research focuses on developing natural products that help sustain and nurture health. He is both a National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health Fellow and Grantee. Dr. Bill discusses various approaches for stopping the various causes of Parkinson’s disease by inhibiting: Oxidative stress: Parkinson’s patients are in a state of oxidative stress caused by the increase of free radicals.Neuro-inflammation: Neuro-inflammation is involved in an important cascade reaction in neuronal degeneration.Abnormal protein aggregation: Misfolded and aggregated proteins play a key role in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease.Neuronal apoptosis: Parkinson’s is caused by the premature death of dopaminergic neurons from abnormal apoptosis activation. Dr. McAnalley’s research has explored the underlying factors that contribute to the causes of diseases like Parkinson’s. He subsequently formulated a novel approach for addressing them. His revolutionary discoveries have been used to foirmulate a series of unique natural food supplements that support healing to occur from the inside out. Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a systemic disease with motor and non-motor deficits. In July 2011, we treated a 47-year-old man affected by spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2). In this patient, fatigue as well as motor symptoms improved after parenteral high doses of thiamine (also this was our proprietary research). Therefore, we formulated the hypothesis that in some inherited and degenerative diseases of the nervous system, the pathogenesis of the symptoms could be linked to a focal thiamine deficiency due to a dysfunction of the circulation of thiamine in the intracellular space or to structural enzymatic abnormalities. We thought that this dysfunction could be responsive to high-dose thiamine. Furthermore, PD has also been related to mutations associated with SCA2. Applying the same approach to the PD the observed results were nothing short of startling and never previously described in literature. Tom House, PhD, is a former major league pitcher and currently the throwing coach to dozens of MLB pitchers and NFL quarterback, including Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan. Diagnosed with Parkinson's about five years ago, Tom brings all his experience as an athlete, coach, and sports physiology researcher to a daily program for Parkinson's patients. The most important thing to Tom? Daily exercise. The name of his program? "Just Do Something Every Day." www.justdosomethingeveryday.com Just Do Something Every Day combines the FocusBand wearable brain frequency measuring device with a mobile app, creating a neuro-physiological daily exercise program. It's well known that exercise is one of the best medicines for Parkinson's. Exercise allows the remaining dopamine in the brain to be used more effectively, leading to longer "on times." Neurofeedback allows the user to "train" the brain to be in a better state during exercise, making the exercise more effective. More effective exercise means better results, creating longer on times. Tom's goal: create an inexpensive, non-invasive program that can help every single person with Parkinson's.…

1:03:00Fine Art Photographer Alan Babbitt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003 with a nasty hand tremor – just what a STILL photographer needs! After struggling to compensate for the shakiness, he had an epiphany. He realized he could use the tremor (and other movements) as an art technique – leading to a large body of work he calls “Un-Still Photography: The Art of Motion Within a Still.” “But what really got shook up was me,” Babbitt continues. “Turning my tremor into something useful was an incredibly empowering game changer - boosting my confidence, mood and energy. It freed me up and allowed me to reach new levels of creative expression. But best of all, the fun and joy of photography came back. All thanks to that pesky Parkinson’s tremor! Is that weird or what? The damn disease has given me a terrific gift!” See Alan’s Un-Still Photography at http://www.abproductions.com…
My guest today is Dr. Donald Rhodes MD who I had the pleasure of interviewing every day for a week in his Houston Texas clinic. This interview presents several key segments of these interviews. Dr. Rhodes is the inventor of VECTTOR treatments, a gentle form of electrostimulation designed to stimulate nerves to augment the production of certain essential nerve chemicals throughout the body. The end goal of his therapy is to infuse cells that have been starved of oxygen. VECTTOR treatments are painless, noninvasive, and are showing encouraging results in diseases exacerbated by oxidative stress. People experiencing the symptoms of Parkinsons Disease have reported positive results from giving themselves Vecttor treatments on a daily basis. The basis of this therapy stems from the science of acupuncture, reflexology, physiology, and cellular physiology. Dr. Rhodes is a former foot and ankle surgeon, has spent his career studying the effects of electrostimulation on the body. He has successfully treated patients from all over the world in his Houston clinic in South Texas. Additional information about the Vecttor treatments is available on his website at www.vecttor.com…
Looking for therapies that are free to do and result in much desired benefits. Here it is! What Doesn’t Kill Us by author Scott Carney traces our evolutionary journey back to a time when survival depended on how well we adapted to the environment around us. Our ancestors crossed the Alps in animal skins and colonized the New World in loin cloths, seemingly impervious to the elements. Modern humans have lost their biological link to the environment. Now we hate the cold. We suffer from auto-immune diseases. Many of us are chronically over weight. What Doesn’t Kill Us uncovers how just about anyone can reclaim our species’ evolutionary strength by reimagining how our bodies fit into the world and then slowly conditioning ourselves to unfamiliar environments. Scott will share the stories he has included in his new book of individuals who currently experience symptoms of Parkinson‘s disease. Scott's Website: www.scottcarney.com…

Since appearing on this show last fall, Dr. Hageseth has consulted with scores of what he calls Parkinson’s People (PPs). PPs consist of Person’s with Parkinson’s (PwPs), caregivers, interested family and many different professionals. Overall PPs are dissatisfied with allopathic medicine, but dissatisfied or not, many take medications with considerable benefit. The majority feel their neurologists do not take enough time with them or discuss other options with them. The Internet abounds with alternative approaches, but sadly, most offer little data or studies to support their claims. I have interviewed several PPs who tried different treatments but with no success. Holistic medicine should have a ‘W’ at the start of the word. Allopathic medicine helps, but it has its difficulties. I envision Wholistic medicine to include allopathic medicine and a healthy dose of Alternative Medicine as well. The following quotes sum up my approach to PD Don't battle PD . . . challenge it - better yet, dance with it. Do not resign yourself to PD, accept it and get on with your life. Only you can engage your BodyMind to bring about self-directed neuroplastic change that will rewire your brain. BUT it's not up to your neurologist, IT'S UP TO YOU!…
Stress and trauma lurk behind most diseases, including Parkinson’s. John O’Dwyer has authored a book which describes a number of modern energy balancing methods for dealing with emotional stress, trauma and other imbalances. He will discuss energy healing and ways to reduce stress and trauma, often permanently. Some energy healing techniques you can do yourself and others can be done with a practitioner. Most doctors are not familiar with these forms of healing, even though some of them were actually developed by doctors. Energy healing has been used to reverse ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, PTSD and other serious conditions in some individuals. 1:05:00Many people hold the belief that Parkinson's is "degenerative" which means that people who have been diagnosed will exhibit a decline in their health every year. Listeners answered a three question survey to test out this assertion. Findings are announced today. Is everyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's really getting worse? You will be excited to hear the results. I also read the inspiring statements from people who answered the survey regarding what they are grateful for. Need continuing support for your recovery? 1:14:00Tom O’Bryan provides a powerful and cogent examination of the mechanisms underlying this modern-day epidemic, with over 80 million people affected by autoimmunity in the US alone, including top celebrities like Selena Gomez who suffers from Lupus and Michael J. Fox, the well known face of Parkinson’s Disease. A broad spectrum of life altering disorders, Autoimmune Disease includes diseases such as Hashimotos Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritated Bowel Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and conditions such as chronic fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and memory and cognitive dysfunction. The list is alarmingly long, and all tolled, adds up to the 3rd leading cause of death in the nation. For information about the probiotics Dr. O';Bryan recommends, visit: Dr. O'hhira's Probiotics…
Chronic illness, by definition, is a failure to heal in spite of interventions. When embarking on a healing journey with any holistic modality, we must first ask, “Can I count on my body to heal itself when all is said and done, after all the effort and expense? Holistic modalities work with the body to facilitate healing, but ultimately it is your body’s innate self-repair ability that determines whether you get well. Today’s chaotic environment is increasingly taking a toll on what we have always taken for granted: our vital ability to self-repair. Without it there can be no healing. Our “Innate intelligence” is a function of the Human Body Field, the “computer” that controls the physiology of the of the body. Through the work of Master Acupuncturist Peter Fraser, who spent 30-years mapping out the quantum electrodynamic structures of the Human Body Field in detail, we now have the science to assess and rebuild the compromised HBF from the ground up. 1:31:00There is a strong view among adventurous healthcare professionals that Parkinson’s disease is not a distinct, separate “disease”, but one possible set of symptoms arising from one or more causes that create a degenerative process. Other “diseases” that may arise from these causes include Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multiple System Atrophy, Motor Neurone Disease/ALS, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, Type 2 Diabetes, certain cancers, and many others. When viewed in this way, likely causes become clearer and treatment options widen dramatically. Modern research is now showing significant benefits from “folk medicine” and “old wives’ remedies” like food choices, appropriate hydration, dancing, singing, gentle detoxification activities, self-love and meditation. Let’s look at Parkinson’s disease as a set of symptoms, discover the individual pathway that led each person to this point, and deal with the causes to create wellness. Dr. Christian Hageseth, a 75-year-old retired psychiatrist has had PD for 5 ½ years. He tried three medications briefly early in his illness, but stopped due to side effects and expense. The day after his diagnosis he started studying yoga and now practices it daily. For exercise he does what he calls Mindful Power Walking and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT, also called Tabata). Finally, he has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and meditates for 45 minutes each morning. He has fewer motor symptoms that are less severe since the time of his diagnosis. Last year he hiked up a 14000-foot mountain peak in Colorado. When meeting people for the first time most cannot tell he has PD. He now feels it’s his mission to train other Persons with Parkinson’s (PwPs) how to reduce their medications, reduce some motor symptoms, and live a fuller life. 1:01:00The limbic system is a complex set of structures in the mid brain that includes the hypothalamus, hippocampus, amygdala and cingulate cortex. It has been described as the “feeling and reacting brain”. It is responsible for the formation of memories and is constantly determining our level of safety. The Limbic System assigns emotional significance to everything we smell, see, hear, feel, and taste. It is known as the seat of social and emotional intelligence and is the brain’s anxiety “switch”. It is closely integrated with the immune system, the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system. When not functioning properly due to injury or impairment, the limbic system becomes hypersensitive and begins to react to stimuli that it would usually disregard as not representing a danger to the body. This results in inappropriate activation of the immune, endocrine and autonomic nervous systems that can lead to varied and seemingly unconnected symptoms. My guest is Annie Hopper who is the founder of the Dynamic Neural Retraining System and author of the book Wired for Healing. The focus of the program is to effectively teach participants how to self-direct neuroplastic changes in the limbic system that normalize threat mechanisms in the brain. This allows the brain and body to move out of a state of survival and into a state of growth and repair, where healing can take place.…

1:02:00The fine and gross motor controls of the hands help to grow the brain. This brain growth occurs specifically on the surface of the brain (cerebral cortex) as well as certain anatomical areas of the hippocampi structures, the corpus collosum and the cerebellum. Science has proven that the growth of myelin occurs with improved procedural memories. When the myelin thickens on the axon sheaths, chemical changes occur and the master steroid called Pregnenolone is produced. This is part of the Steroidogenesis process that helps to maintain homeostasis within the brain. The brain has the ability to create new neurons in a process called Neurogenesis. There is now much evidence to support that the brain has much greater plasticity than previously recognized. This is encouraging news for anyone dealing with mild cognitive impairment. People dealing with Parkinson's can be inspired to become more proactive with the issues of doing certain brain exercises that can help to rewire both hemispheres. One of the tenets of the Whole Brain Power system is to work on ambidexterity with handwriting drills and to also work on mirror writing. This exercise is called "Da Vinci writing." It is one in which the practitioner writes from right to left with cursive penmanship. The other ambidextrous drill is to bounce a golf ball off a mallet and to do so with either hand. People with Parkinson's seem to make tremendous strides in these areas where initially they had coordination problems.…
This program is an interview with naturopath doctor John Coleman from Australia who, to my knowledge, is one of the first persons to successfully reverse his own Parkinson’s symptoms. John offers his answers to the following eight questions which were previously submitted by members of my listening audience. My wife has been anemic just after experiencing Parkinson’s symptoms. Her iron levels are too low. What steps should she take to remedy this situation? Can I give my mother B12 vitamins for her condition? How does one deal with orthostatic hypotension (or low blood pressure)? I have tried many therapies over the past five years but the Parkinson’s symptoms continue to progress. Treatments included two stem cell treatments and other treatments out of the country. There was an initial improvement over the initial 6 months, but these benefits faded away. What supplements have you found that help the most?Have you seen a connection for many people of Lipitor (a statin drug developed to reduce levels of the “bad” cholesterol) with Parkinson’s symptoms? How can I get the best movement possible with the least amount of medications? What will carbidopa help and what will it not help? What was most helpful to you in your own recovery process? When you your doctor answers the question: "What can I do to feel better?" by saying - "Drink more water" Do not laugh. Your doctor is probably right. Dehydration becomes a serious issue for most people as they age. For whatever reasons, the body's mechanism for signalling thirst and distributing water to the cells becomes compromised with the aging process. Many people who currently experience Parkinson's symptoms take Aquas which were formulated to hydrate the body. John Coleman, ND, says that the Aquas were instrumental to his own recovery from Parkinson's. Jaroslav Boublik,PhD, one of the original developers of the Aquas, answers questions about the Aquas during the radio show today. For more information about the Aquas visit: www.aquas4life.com…
Are you taking all the best medicines and supplements for your Parkinson's symptoms and doing the exercises recommendedby the experts and yet not seeing a reversal of your symptoms? I have a good guess for you about why. You may be dehydrated. Simply put, your body cannot take in the nutrients nor discharge the toxins if there is not enough water in your body. When you your doctor answers the question: "What can I do to feel better?" by saying - "Drink more water". Do not laugh. Your doctor is probably right. Dr. Boublik is my book of experts is the international expert on water and hydration. His research centers around the effects of dehydration. Dr. Boublik answers questions about the effects of dehydration on your health and how you can realistically address the problem such as: Why do we get dehydrated as we age? Why is hydration so important to eliminate toxins? If I add such substances to my diet such as - salt, energy drinks, coffee, tea, alcohol, colas, milk - will I be better hydrated? What are the symptoms of dehydration? Is drinking structured water a good idea? Can good hydration reduce Parkinson's symptoms? Will better hydration enhance mental clarity? 2:04:00When I launched my research program in 2004 to investigate the causes of Parkinson's disease and the natural therapies that help reverse them, I thought my research would target perhaps one or two causes and one or two natural therapies that would address them. What I discovered did not fulfill my initial expectation. There are not just one or two causes and there are not just one or two therapies. There are many of each. During the show today I highlight the ten secrets I have discovered for recoverying from Parkinsons disease successfully. He was a baseball player, tennis pro, a Boston Marathoner and local high school baseball and tennis coach. He won over 400 games as a high school baseball coach and has always had a thirst to be in motion and with this developed into a very competitive individual. He is featured in the “cover” stories in the latest “Live it!” magazine put out by the Iowa Parkinson Association . He has been interviewed on the “Paula Sands Live” television Show in the Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois), has had several radio and newspaper interviews and spoken to over 30 groups. His book is full of true stories of his life in sports as a player and as a coach and the “life lessons” learned from those experiences. The final (unplanned) chapter deals with his diagnosis of Parkinson’s approximately two years ago and the changes in priorities and the new life lessons he has learned from it. He discusses the faith, the importance of family and friends and the open-mindedness that is necessary to continue to lead a meaningful, productive life. He also tells people of the importance of exercise to both healthy individuals and more importantly those with some type of an affliction.…

1:06:00Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of Balance/Auditory/Vision eXercises, all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. Using sand-filled bags and racquetballs, the exercises address visual tracking deficiencies, auditory imprecision, impulsivity, balance and anxiety issues. Some exercises combine bags/balls with feet patterns. More than half can be done while seated. Requiring multiple thousands of mid-line crossings in three dimensions, exercises are steadily rhythmic, each executed at a pace that naturally results from proper physical techniques. Bal-A-Vis-X is a carefully modulated system of exercises that become increasingly complex OR simplified/modified for those with the most severe special needs. The youngest to use the program on a regular basis is three. The oldest thus far is 105. These 3 facts can be found in Dr. Parkinson’s book “An Essay On The Shaking Palsy” and how to get this historic book, along with Noel’s explanation on these 3 facts can be obtained from Noel’s website www.ParkinsonsDiseaseCure.com Noel has been treating Parkinson and MS patients with his unique approach, since 2005 and he has numerous “before” and “after” success videos on his website, of patients he has treated, some who have walked away from wheelchairs in a matter of only days. Noel’s message to people listening to this interview, is that if you have any symptom attributed to Parkinson’s disease, for example: - stiffness, numbness or tremors, you will ultimately find that they are caused by some type of muscular-skeletal abnormality. Dr. James Parkinson explains in his book that the two most common abnormalities are problems at the C1 vertebra at the very base of the skull and spinal curvature.…

1:02:00Innate human coordination requires being in sync with the STRAIGHT-down influence of gravity. This enables us to tap the substantial energy generated by the downward movement of our body mass. In infancy, we all learn this highly evolved skill as we teach ourselves to sit, stand and walk with grace and power. Early in childhood, however, through deep cultural conditioning, we forget. From the day we are born, we see everyone around us sitting back in chairs, sofas, car seats, etc. At around 3 or 4, we get sucked into this utterly normal, but mal-adaptive behavior. We begin sitting-back with staggering repetition. In so doing, we interfere with gravity's influence by sending our body mass down on a BACKWARDS trajectory. Our brains automatically react -- with muscular strain and skeletal distortion -- to keep our head/neck functionally vertical. We don't notice these reactions nor feel anything unusual. It all happens subconsciously. This kinesthetic disconnect spills over into how we stand and walk. The consequences are all around us: society-wide epidemics of bad posture, lower back and neck pain, knee and hip replacements. For people with Parkinsons, the consequences are even more severe, restricting free movement considerably. This can be changed -- through re-developing sensitivity to our downward-moving body mass and how it is affecting us moment-by-moment. If you are planning to listen, it will be worth your while to check-out in advance an illustrated essay on this topic at www.uprighting.com/Parkinsons.pdf.…

1:22:00Many people hold the belief near and dear to their heart that Parkinson's disease is "degenerative." Is this really true? Has anyone out there actually reversed their symptoms and if they have, how did they do it? The radio show today answers these questions. First, I report results of a holiday survey which asks persons diagnosed with Parkinson's disease whether they were better, the same or worse now when compared to the holiday season a year ago.As you will discover by listening to a detailed discussed of the results, a vast majority of respondents reported they were better or the same relative to one year ago. In other words, the first answer to the question is no. Parkinson's is not "degenerative" for many people. OK. What did people do to get better? I report and discuss each answer to the second question in the survey: What therapies were helping? You will be excited to learn that there are dozens of therapies that are making a big difference for people currently experiencing the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. 1:06:00I have been searching for therapies that can offer people relief from symptoms of Parkinson's disease for 12 marvelous years, but have never been so enthused about two new therapies that have just been available in 2017. One is light (or photobiomodulation) therapy. The other is a new ketone ester. For further information about photobiomodulation therapy, visit: https://www.blog.parkinsonsrecovery.com/photobiomodulation-therapy For information about the new Ketone ester, visit: https://ketoneaid.com/pr. When the show first aired, a website address was announced to pre-order the new ketone ester as it is currently in a production phase Due to an extremely high demand, the opportunity to pre-order the ester is no longer officially open. However, the CEO of KetoneAid.com, Frank Llosa, has generously agreed to allow members of the Parkinsons Recovery community to pre-order a supply which will likely be available for shipment in March, 2018. You can pre-order by emailing Frank directly: Frank@ketoneaid.com. Be sure to mention you heard about the new ester here and would like to place a preorder. nThere is currently no way to pre-order on any website I suspect the problem in the near future will be availability, so if this calls out to you are a viable option, I would suggest submitted a pre-order even though the product is not yet available to ship. 1:04:00Dr Gair will be sharing the exciting new studies that show how cold laser therapy can be beneficial for patients with Parkinson's in various stages of the disease. Cold laser, also known as "photobiomodulation", is beneficial by stimulating improved function of the mitochondria, stimulating neuronal stem cells, increased ATP production, increasing brain derived neurotrophic factor, dampening inflammation, promoting nitric oxide and glutathione production, modulating immune activity, and slowing the progression of the disease. The best thing about this therapy is that when the appropriate laser is used there are virtually zero side effects, and it can be part of a program of functional neurological rehabilitation under the care of a trained professional or can also be done at home by the patient on a regular basis. This therapy can also be used preventively in patients with a genetic predisposition for the disease as well. The device, XLR8, uses two laser diodes and was developed by Erchonia, a leader in developing low level laser technology as treatment for various medicial conditions. There is a $1000 discount to the laser if, when ordering, you tell the agent your have been referred by Parkinsons Rrcovery. www.erchonia.com…
Neurons are cells that contain mitochondria. Photobiomodulation energizes neuronal mitochondria, triggering a cascade of beneficial cellular functions. Potential benefits are neuroprotective effects, self-repair mechanisms and enhanced function. Vielight’s patented intranasal stimulation technology and microchip LED technology is an innovative tool for brain photobiomodulation invented by Dr. Lew Lim, my guest on Parkinsons Recovery Radio today. Intranasal photobiomodulation is the most efficient method for light energy to reach the brain. Different from electrical and magnetic stimulation, photobiomodulation uses light energy (or photons) of specific wave lengths and power density to simulate cellular function. A 2015 study using subjects with dementia found there was significant improvement after 12 weeks of use involving increased function, better sleep, fewer angry outbursts and less anxiety. These encouraging results have been followed by a series of ongoing studies. The company, Vielight, has generously offered followers of Parkinsons Recovery a 10% discount off orders of the Vielight Neuro Gamma which retails for $1749. After 6 months of use, users can return product for an 80% refund. Enter the coupon code healing4me on the shopping cart to claim the 10% discount at www.vielight.com As of the end of May 2018, 61 Neuro Gamma devices were purchased by listeners in October 2017 who claimed the 10% discount with coupon code healing4me. Only 5 units have been returned. This evidence suggests effectiveness of thie device to be good for approximatey 9 out of 10 users. Robert Rodgers PhD Road to Recovery from Parkinsons Disease…

Researchers who study Parkinson's disease celebrate the discovery of medications that help some people reverse their symptoms. They also worry, as do I, about an unfortunately reality of their use. More Parkinson's medications are needed over time to induce the same "on" times. Over time, medications usually stop being effective entirely. The time they are effective varies widely deoending on the individual. What can be done about this problem? Some answers yuou have probably not considered which involve natural approachs to recovery will be discussed in my show today. The focus of my discussion will be directed to a marvelous little book by Julia Ross titled the Mood Cure.…

Doing the same things the same way day in and day out dig deep ruts into the same, tired neural pathways. Our neurons get rutted and cluttered with debris. Symptoms flare. What can be done? Existing neurological pathways can be cleared and cleansed or we can create new pathways. Either approach reduces or eliminates symptoms. The most expedient approach is to pave new pathways which means our habits have to be transformed. How can this be accomplished? Answering this question has been the focus of my research over the past year. Two opportunities are available to explore the possibilities. First, natural methods to create new neural pathways can be explored through my Jump Start to Recovery classes. Second, I discuss a variety of exciting methods for creating new neural pathways during this radio show. All of my suggestions embrace natural approaches. Parkinsons Recovery Memberships provide opportunities for taking control over your recovery and in so doing, creating new neural pathways. 1:17:00Most people choose at the beginning to suppress their Parkinson's symptoms. Consider another choice: Discover the cause first before you configure a treatment program. Further, most people believe the only way to determine what is wrong with them is to pay medical professionals to order expensive and oftentime invasive tests that can involve risks in themselves. This option is a valuable resource to be sure. The good news of the day is that there are a variety of methdos you can use to determine the cause of your symptoms since the body is always giving us all the information we need (and more). No medical professional need be consultated, compensated of involved. How cool is that? I will discuss methods you can do for yourself (no medical professionals necessay) to determine the cause of your symptoms. When you take control of your recovery program, prospects for recovery soar. Also discussed during the program are details for the 2015 Jump Start to Recovery 2 1/2 day program to convene at the Alderbrook Resort in Union, Washington. http://www.jumpstart.parkinsonsrecovery.com…

1:18:00This show explores Qigong as a primary strategy for healing Parkinson's. Wisdom Healing Qigong (WHQ) is a particular form of the ancient Chinese spiritual practice that focuses on personal health and wellbeing, blending essential ancient teachings into one gentle practice of movement, visualization, chanting and meditation. Compatible with traditional Chinese and modern western medicine, it fits all abilities and is very effective for chronic and acute health conditions. Joining me on the show is my special guest Bill Bulick who has been practicing Wisdom Healing Qigong daily for almost 4 years. He was originally inspired by the story of Bianca Molle, who reversed her Parkinson's symptoms through this practice, and by the extraordinary teaching of Master MIngtong Gu. Bill has been a devoted student of Mingtong's since 2011, has attended six 10 day retreats, has increased his practice to 2-4 hours and is now in the WHQ Teacher Training Program. 1:16:00Are you taking all the best medicines and supplements for your symptoms and even doing the exercise recommended by the experts but are not seeing a reversal of your symptoms? I have a good guess for you about why. You are dehydrated. Simply put, your body cannot take in the nutrients nor discharge the toxins if there is not enough water in the cells of your body. When you your doctor answers the question: "what can I do to feel better?" by saying - "Drink more water" do not laugh. Your doctor is right. Taking the time today to listen to my radio show today will be well worth your time if it simply encourages you to drink more water. My show presents an interview with my guest Jaroslov Boublik, PhD who in my book of experts is the international expert on water and hydration. Dr. Boublik answers such questions as: Why do we get dehydrated as we age?Why is hydration so important to elminate toxins? If I add such substances to my diet such as - salt, energy drinks, coffee, tea, alcohol, colas, milk - will I be better hydrated? What are the symptoms of dehydration? Is drinking structured water a good idea? Can good hydration reduce Parkinson's symptoms? will better hydration enhance mental clarity? 1:30:00A wide variety of conditions and factors are known to cause the symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. What is the primary cause in your case? Once a cause has been found, resources can focus on getting the treatments that can heal the cause. This is far more efficient and (I might add) far more interesting than suppressing symptoms for the rest of your life. Most people believe that the cause can only be detected by a trained professional who must analyze results of expensive and invasive laboratory tests. Admittedly, this is the preferred approach for most people. There is another way. Instead of assuming someone else has the expertise to figure out what is causing your symptoms, why not put your own detective hat on? It is possible to figure out what is causing your symptoms yourself. How? The body gives us all the information we need to find the cause. The physical origin of the presenting symptom initially is a key clue in the discovery of the cause (or causes). Important information is also found by examining your feet, eyes, hair and saliva. It is always a good idea to get a trained professional involved in your journey down the road to recovery, but why not put yourself in the driver's seat? Figure out the likely source of symptoms yourself. In so doing, you take control over your own recovery program. This radio show proposes a variety of methods and approaches that will give important clues as to the cause of symptoms. Some cost a few dollars. Others are free. Want to take control over your recovery program? Listen to my program today.…

1:03:00It has been ten years now since I launched my research program to discover the factors that cause Parkinson's disease and the therapies that provide the opportunity to reverse them. Yes, I have succeeded in identifying the many factors that cause the symptoms. And yes, I have succeeded in identifying a surprising number of therapies that help reverse those symptoms. Many people have success with reversing some of their symptoms, but other symptoms linger. The questions that have haunted me have been: "Why do more people not succeed in reversing all of their symptoms"? "Since the body really does know to heal itself, why are so many people still having problems?" I have documented the stories of some people who have succeeded in becoming symptom free but why - I have wondered to myself - aren't there thousands and thousands of people who have also become symptom free by now? After a decade of research, I finally figured out the answer to these most curious questions. It is not an answer I had expected to encounter when I launched my research program. The discovery provides the framework for all of my work at Parkinsons Recovery incuding the Jump Start to Recovery program. You will not be able to second guess the answer. Want to know what my recent revolutionary discovery is? Knowing it offers the opportunity for you to begin reversing your symptoms right now. What is the answer? Listen to my show where I discuss my reearch over the past 10 years which has focused on how to reverse the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and become symptom free.…

1:14:00What does it really take for recovery from Parkinson's to happen for you? There is no doubt but that the treatment of Parkinson;s symptoms helps many people. The limitation of this approach of course is that there is no end to the treatment. When treatments are focused on symptoms only, they must continue day in and day out. Why? The cause of symptoms has not be addressed. An alternative approach is to set the intention to find the cause of the Parkinson's symptoms. Once the cause (or causes) have been identified they can be treated and healed. Even when the cause has been identified, what is really necessary to heal from the neurological symptoms of Parkinson's disease? I discuss the four foundations of healing Parkinsons from the inside-out in the show today. Many people falsely believe it is not possible to reverse the symptoms of Parkinson's. My research reveals that there are many paths to recovery that people take to reverse their symptoms. I preview the 2015 Jump Start to Recovery Alderbrook Program which will convene at Alderbrook in Washington State November 1st through 3rd. 1:36:00Everyone want s to see symptoms reversed now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now. The model we have been taught to believe in is the following: Make an appointment with the doctor. Get a prescription for medicine or surgery.Celebrate a reversal of symptoms. The focus is on a treatment of symptoms, not on exploring the possible cause (or causes) of symptoms. We should all be thankful that the option of treating symptoms is available for Parkinson's Disease. It has helped many people. Not everyone benefits however. Some people experience little or no relief from taking medications for Parkinson's or pursuing surgery. On this show I disuss the choice between treating symptoms and exploring the cause of Parkinson's symptoms. Which is the better choice? It depends of course. Listen to my show to know why. I also answer questions submitted by listeners. Robert Rodgers, PhD Parkinsons Recovery Seven Secrets to Healing Chronic Illness Road to Recovery from Parkinson's Disease…

1:03:009 Reasons to Use Coconut Oil DAILY (3 of them are shocking) http://7points.altdailyv.hop.clickbank.net/?pid=c101&tid=coconut Can Parkinson’s disease be prevented or even reversed? Current medical treatments have been able to ease the symptoms, but none can even come close to being called a cure. While a complete cure may not be available at this time, there is a treatment that can slow down, stop, and even reverse many of the symptoms of the disease. This new treatment doesn’t rely on drugs, surgery, or any medical treatment. It is based on diet. The key element of this diet is coconut—more specifically, coconut oil. A coconut oil based diet has proven to be highly effective in stopping and reversing a number of neurodegenerative conditions My special guest is naturopath doctor Bruce Fife, N.D, author of Stop Alzheimer's Now!: How to Prevent & Reverse Dementia, Parkinson's, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis & Other Neurodegenerative Disorders. 1:09:00Glen Pettibone started developing Parkinson's Disease symptoms in 2008. In 2011 he was diagnosed. It was going fast and he could not tolerate most of the drugs. In January of 2013 when off meds due to food poisoning, he shook so bad he could not walk. He was taking very high doses and at the "end of the algorithm". His doctors were suggesting Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. He did not like the high risk and marginal results he saw regarding the surgery So, he drew upon his scientific and engineering background and started reading every paper he could find. He developed a diet combining Solanaceous vegetables, featuring eggplant juice, green tomatoes, and peppers with perhaps every other suggested dietary element and suggested supplement already discussed in the Parkinson's community. Also other nutrient dense foods. Dr. Mischley's book was inspirational and helpful to him. He added more elements. He has been under her care for 6 months or so. She added intranasal glutathione which has helped. Glen is now off more than 93% of his Parkinson's disease medication. He completely cured his acid reflux, asthma, allergies and moderated his cholesterol. He regained color vision and acuity, his hearing and sense of smell are improving. His skin has tanner color and healthier texture. He has more energy, strength, and stamina. He is in the top 5 consulting employees in his company every month; sometimes number 1. Also, prior to a car accident last summer, he was off all medication for 3 months. This spring he thinks he will be again.…

Wednesday's show is a recording of Lexie's latest Sunday Connections show which aired on Feb 2. Lexie, will be answering listeners' many questions regarding her remarkable 5 year experience of taking Low Dose Naltrexone for her own Parkinson's Disease. LDN is a proven-safe (by the FDA in 50mg doses!), off-label prescription drug, which has gained a great deal of attention over the past few years due to it's remarkable disease modifying effects of controlling and reversing symptoms of Parkinson's Disease. Why does Lexie have so many of the answers about LDN? Lexie was officially diagnosed with PD in 2008, although her non-motor symptoms began about 20 years before that time. 1:06:00Over the past 30 years Sharry Edwards has pioneered a fascinating technology known as Bioacoustics. She uses a 30 second recording of your voice to diagnose the imbalances that are currently present. For example, are your symptoms caused in part by a deficiency in vitamin D3 or zinc or a defect in a specific gene or eating GMO foods? There are so many possibilities that it becomes overwhelming for everyone. How does she do this? Each aspect of the body (whether it is an organ, vitamin, mineral, gene or whatever) emits a specific frequency. The presence of absence of these frequencies are identified using her vocal profiling technology. Her approach cuts to the quick by identifying which imbalances in the body may be contributing to neurologocial symptoms. If you do not know what is causing your symptoms, it becomes overwhelming to decide which of the many available options will help you feel better. Sharry Edwards will offer live voice profile analyses for persons who call into the show. She will also announce a special two day training she will offer in Santa Fe after the Parkinsons Recovery Summit concludes to teach you how to assess and treat imbalances yourself.…

1:07:00Shereen Noon shares how she healed herself of cancer at 26, and is now focusing her healing abilities on Access Consciousness and “The Access Bars.” Access is making dramatic changes in people’s health and lives by ending judgments and conclusions, which lead to limitation and disease. By being in the question and a state of receiving, humans can naturally flow into a state of healthy cellular functioning, freedom, and desirable life changes. Shereen describes the simple, non-invasive touch of “The Bars” and how it releases lifetimes of programming and conditioning that cause the disease in our lives and bodies. When we receive the gentle touch on these 32 points on the head, anxiety, stress, confusion, and self-judgment are released, and the body and mind are supported in having less dramatic symptoms and flare-ups, healthier cell processing, and a greater sense of possibility for the future. How does it get any better than that?…

1:03:00Johan Boswinkel, researcher and developer of the Chiren, has developed a method of measuring disturbances within the body and correcting them using this instrument, the Chiren. Each cell in your body emits biophotons or light impulses; these biophotons act as a package of information sending signals to other parts of the body. Biophoton Light Therapy is aimed at tracking down and eliminating disturbances or incoherent light impulses in the body, thus allowing the body to carry out the healing process itself. The focus is to search for the root of the problem rather than treat the symptoms. For more information visit: Institute for Applied Biophoton Sciences…
For more than 20 years, lawyer Glenn Kantor has been helping people with chronic illnesses get the insurance benefits they deserve from employer-provided disability and long-term care insurance. Recently, his firm Kantor & Kantor LLP has received an unusual number of calls from people with Parkinson’s Disease who can no longer work but have still been denied disability benefits. Even when treating physicians have diagnosed that the patient is too disabled by the disease to meet the demands of his or her job, insurers are insisting that the patient can still be employed at some occupation. Kantor will explain why these denials are becoming more frequent and what kind of evidence and documentation the policyholder must provide to satisfy insurer demands. Chinese medicine offers integrative support for Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. Scalp acupuncture, in particular, is effective with various health issues related to what patients suffer from. This interview with Pete Doyle, Acupuncturist from New York City, explores this great resource.
Many people who pursue options to reverse symptoms associated with Parkinsons disease get discouraged because they believe nothing they have tried helps. Objective assessments of progress often prove this perception is misguided. It is hard for everyone to track their own symptoms. Learn how easy it is to track symptoms using the freer Parkinsons Recovery Symptom Tracker. It is easy to do. It takes little time every month. It will always be free. It opens your eyes to improvements you never before realized. In addition to listening to my show today, watch the video on the blog for an explanation of Symptom Tracker. John Baumann's mother told him hundreds of times, “Everything happens for the best.” Almost a year after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, her favorite commentary changed. “Well, remember John, everything happens for a reason.” What had always been the “best” was now a mediocre “reason”, a solemn and unexplainable “reason”? When he confronted her about it, she reluctantly explained, “I can’t imagine that your Parkinson’s Disease is for the best.” He didn’t know it then, but he had been looking for something to inspire him. Right then and there he made the decision to give her optimistic “best” back. Somehow, some way, he would make having Parkinson’s “for the best.” John Baumann's book, DECIDE SUCCESS, uses short stories to bring his success principles to life using engaging imagery. He has dedicated his life to become an inspirational speaker heard by audiences across the globe as he explains his twelve action steps to success. John Baumann inspires many, many people to achieve the success they truly desire in life.…
Jaclyn Gisburne, Ph.D. sees Parkinsons to be a condition of extreme overwhelm of the central nervous system caused by traumatic events and wrong belief systems. She and her colleagues have identified specific traumas that occur prior to the onset of symptoms of Parkinson’s. The final trauma comes with the news of the diagnosis. These traumatic events result in brain wave distortions that ensure the survival of the person until resolution can be achieved. If resolution does not occur, distortions continue to run denying access to dopamine reserves. The body becomes exhausted by the stress and continues to decline unless resolution is found. Dr. Gisburne Ph.D. discuss her perspective on Parkinsons on the show today and explains the neurofeedback process she uses to address trauma. She will also present an exciting workshop on neurofeedback at the 2013 Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico in February.…

1:18:00Master Mingtong Gu, founder of The Chi Center, will answer your questions live, about how Qigong (pronounced chee – Gong) has helped his students in their Parkinson’s recovery and explains how the practice can help you. Master Gu trained in Wisdom Healing Qigong at the largest Qigong medicine-less hospital in China. Wisdom Healing Qigong is the form of medical Qigong that matches ancient movements, meditation and sounds to fit modern medical conditions. Qigong is very beneficial to Parkinson’s, because it reconnects the mind and the body--- helping the mind focus, the brain build neural connections, the body move, the heart find joy. Neuroscience is now able to map the changes in the brain from a practice like Qigong. Master Gu offers online courses so that people of all ages with challenging health conditions can practice anywhere. He leads the only North American WHQ Retreats modeled on China’s successful program, offering 5-30 day intensive practice for chronic and acute conditions, including Parkinson’s. 1:24:00My guest Dr. Mary Newport, MD, author of Alzheimers, What if There was a Cure?, discusses the potential support that coconut oil and MCT oil can provide for persons who currently experience symptoms of Parkinsons, especially those involving dementia. Plaques and tangles are known to be hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease, but another important aspect of Alzheimer’s is decreased glucose uptake into cells due to decreased production of insulin and resistance to insulin. In 1967 it was first reported that the brain can use ketone bodies or ketones as an alternative fuel to glucose; this normally occurs during starvation for more than 48 hours or when adhering to a strict ketogenic diet, one that is high in fat and low in carbohydrate and protein. Levels of ketones produced from consuming MCT oil have been shown to produce cognitive improvement in nearly half of people with Alzheimer’s and mild cognitive impairment after one dose and also after three months of treatment. Coconut oil contains about 60% of medium chain fatty acids and is the richest natural source, and MCT oil is extracted from coconut oil or palm kernel oil and is 100% medium chain fatty acids. Glucose PET scans in persons with Parkinson’s disease and certain other neurodegenerative diseases also show decreased glucose uptake in certain parts of the brain. In addition, many people with Parkinson’s will go on to develop Alzheimer’s type dementia, therefore this dietary intervention could be beneficial both to treat Parkinson’s and also to prevent and treat the related dementia. Painting with Parkinsons is an art group for people with Parkinson’s and their carers. Founded in 1994 by artist, curator and lecturer Nancy Tingey, the group has been meeting on Friday mornings continuously for 17 years in the Botanic Gardens, Canberra, Australia. The program has been inspired by Nancy’s research into art as a therapy for Parkinson’s on a Churchill Fellowship in 1996. Recently this has become the role model for groups in Melbourne led by Anne Atkin who featured on the Parkinsons Recovery Radio Show last year. Although Nancy’s husband Bob Tingey who has had Parkinsons 25 years is the only surviving member of the original group, Nancy's group currently has 17 participants, five facilitators and a team of volunteer helpers. This semester she is collaborating with the Canberra School of Music on a program in which musicians play live in the classroom to inspire paintings. A selection of these will be exhibited in a local arts centre with film and photographic documentation in December, 2012. The exhibition will tour Australia in 2013. The amazing art work you see displayed to the left was done by three of the participants in Nancy's Painting with Parkinsons class: Jock, Norma and Bob. 1:03:00The Cypress Alternative’s Parkinson Outreach Program is a three-prong approach to caring for those individuals living with Parkinson Disease—education, support, and fitness. The programming offers daily fitness programs, monthly support groups, and monthly educational seminars on various topics of interest to those with PD, as well as having a comprehensive training program for their staff. Programming is offered at Cypress Palms, an Enhanced Assisted Living Community, located at The Palms of Largo, in Largo, Florida. The Bonsai Holistic Spa, a state-of-the-art wellness center, located in Cypress Palms, provides therapeutic services to the public and has tailored services to meet the unique needs of the Parkinson’s community throughout the Tampa Bay area. Of particular interest in this interview is the success story of Jim I, a 53 year-old patient in the advanced stages of Parkinson Disease who appears to be showing signs of recovery from what is thought to be a chronic and progressive condition. Over the past six months, Jim has shown improvement in fine and gross motor skills as well as his overall attitude. Jim lives at Cypress Palms and regularly works out at The Bonsai Holistic Spa. Here he frees himself of the need to use his wheel chair. He has been training on a recumbent trike on the 90-acre Palms of Largo campus and gets his speed over 20 miles per hour. He participates and enjoys classes in Parkinson’s balance and agility, Yoga, aquatics, progressive muscle relaxation and autogenic training at Cypress Palms. Randy Eady, otherwise known as the foot whisperer, will present one of the 18 workshops offered at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Cincinnati in June, 2012. Randy helps people with symptoms of Parkinsons Disease by stimulating the nerves and meridian pathways in their feet. He has developed several novel and revolutionary therapies that are offering sustained relief to people with Parkinsons. Randy is currently working with the California Institute for Human Science to create a Parkinson's Recovery Garden using subtle energy elements discussed in this broadcast. He will have elements of the garden at the June PR Summit that increase sense of touch in feet and hands and stimulates a sequence of meridian energy activation. In July, participants will have the opportunity to "preview experience" the CIHS Therapy Garden Installation with movement protocols clinically shown to improve balance, breathing and circulation. Specific patterns of stone and crystal will encourage both magnetic resonance and balance with the earth. The PR Summit (June) and the Subtle Energy Science; Art & Practice of Consciousness and Healing Conference (July) will both include discussion of brain lateralization testing, foot palpation, and the emerging results of biospys that compared reflex areas and protocols in acupressure responsive and unresponsive feet. As well as explore the Resonator -- which applies an extremely low-level electromagnetic field (EMF) along with proprietary targeted vibro-acoustic (TvA) protocols—intended to improve a number of the signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s and other neurological-based diseases.…

How in the world do you learn how to Salsa dance? There is a way I have just discovered. I believe Salsa dancing is a fantastic activity for a Parkinsons Support group, especially if you are getting bored with your usual routine. If you are not having enough fun this year, dance to the Salsa. Morry tells me Salsa does wonders for persons who currently experience the neurological symptoms of Parkinsons Disease. 1:17:00In 2001, dancers from the Mark Morris Dance Group began teaching a dance with live music for members of the Brooklyn Parkinson Group. The premise? Professionally-trained dancers are movement experts whose knowledge could be useful to persons with PD. By learning real dance techniques and focusing on artistry and grace, people with PD would be encouraged to explore movement and music in enjoyable and creative ways while addressing balance, coordination, flexibility and physical confidence. Ten years later, Dance for PD classes based on the original Brooklyn model take place in more than 45 communities and in seven countries around the world, and the acclaimed program has been featured in such media as The New York Times, PBS NewsHour, and USA Today, among many others. David Leventhal, one of the program's founding teachers, its program manager, and a 14-year veteran of the Mark Morris Dance Group speaks with Dr. Robert Rodgers about this transformative program and its potential to help people with PD recapture grace and a vital sense of community. Lexie was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in October, 2008. She tried all of the Parkinson's medications that her neurologist prescribed. 1:28:00Dr. Donald Rhodes. my guest today, invented VECTTOR treatments, a gentle form of electrostimulation designed to stimulate nerves to augment the production of certain essential nerve chemicals throughout the body. VECTTOR treatments are painless, noninvasive, and are showing encouraging results in diseases exacerbated by oxidative stress, such as Parkinson's Disease. 1:07:00"Delay the Disease" is a fitness program designed by Jackie Russell and David Zid to empower people with Parkinson's Disease (PWP) by optimizing their physical function. It is the foundation for exercise classes geared specifically to counteract the movement challenges experienced by PWP and is available as a book, DVD, and newly released sequel "Functional Fitness" DVD. Participants boast about mobility improvement, regaining a greater degree of 'normalcy' and maintaining and improving independence. They enjoy the confidence of knowing that they are not defined by their disease anymore, they are now in control and can manage the disease proactively. Zid and Russell agree wholeheartedly with the newest researchers who have begun to see exercise as "the new drug for Parkinson's." For more information visit http://www.delaythedisease.com…

1:07:00New news from the Pedaling for Parkinson's front. Former guests, John Carlin and Nan Little, who both have Parkinson's and have ridden their bikes across Iowa for the last two summers, are readying themselves for another great adventure. In a few weeks they will attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, with a group of Parkinson's and MS patients. Their leader, Lori Schneider who lives with MS, has summited the highest peak on each continent. John and Nan attribute their ability to get stronger, more fit, and even more adventuresome with PD to riding their bikes at a high cadence several times per week. The Pedaling for Parkinson's program is so successful that starting in July it will be offered by the Mill Creek YMCA in the Seattle area, hopefully proliferating in Ys throughout the country. Nan will talk about both the climb and the opportunity for many patients to benefit from Pedaling for Parkinson's at the Y.…

1:14:00Our bodies and our lives are ordered by rhythms great and small, so rhythm feels great and does us good. Parkinson's Disease is one of the best examples to depict how rhythmic response can either throw off or balance the body’s physical activity needs and facilitate the integrity of machinery for maintaining a cell's energy level. As many are aware (PD) is a form of accelerated aging. Shaking, tremors, the imbalance of neurotransmitters, and many other conditions of PD lead to declining efficiency and function in the body. Randy Eady, located in Delray Beach, Florida, where he is known as the "Foot Whisperer" for his promotion of whole body health and balance through treatment of the feet will talk about a program designed to help both medicalized and "non-med" PDers deal with the condition's symptoms. www.koshareyrhythms.com…

I pronounce the following without reservation: You are going to be truly amazed at what she has discovered. You will also be very surprised about the factors she has identified that are common to Parkinson's Disease. Her research discoveries will inspire a different approach to the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's symptoms. Get ready to be excited and dazzled. This show will knock your socks off without even taking your shoes off. Sharry will be joined by Dr. Roman Chrucky, MD, who will discuss his own experience with voice profiling. A pilot study dealing with the vocal matrix frequencies associated with Parkinson’s Disease was recently undertaken with volunteer listeners of Parkinson’s Recovery Radio. The results of the study showed that one particular element of the Dopamine biochemical cascade came forth as the clear pivotal protein for activating Dopamine. 1:19:00Stress and chronic illness are interconnected. Scientists have shown that when the body is chronically stressed it’s unable to properly regulate hormones and the immune system, which results in illness. Stress comes from many sources including physical threats, daily tasks, problems, fatigue, anxiety and illness. Stress has a significant impact on PD patients because it decreases the body’s ability to repair and regenerate as well as worsening PD symptoms, especially tremor. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be highly effective at reducing stress. Hypnotherapist Steve Frison discusses hypnotherapy and how it’s used to reduce symptoms and improve the health and well-being of those with PD. Steven Fenwick, Ph.D., uses Dynamic Energetic Healing (DEH) to identify and clear any and all resistance you might unconsciously have to feeling better. Dr. Fenwick is at the cutting edge of the field of psychotherapy. He explains in my interview with him how it is possible to heal emotional and physical problems using DEH, a systematic approach utilizing muscle testing. With DEH you don't sit on a couch and barf out your life's dramas and tragedies for 100 sessions. Once an intention is set, the clearing is done rapidly, in one to several sessions. With DEH, unconscious resistance to recovery is acknowledged and cleared. Any and all traumas that obstruct recovery are identified and cleared. Relief happens now, not 20 years from now. Pretty cool, eh?…
