A first gen daughter of immigrant's relationship with books
Manage episode 326030006 series 2795725
In this episode, I share a bit about my relationship with books and how it's changed over the years. I talk about how books were my escape but as a first gen student and daughter of immigrants, it was something that my parents couldn't really understand. I talk about what it was like growing up as a book-obsessed girl and the opportunities it opened up for me only to now decades later realize that I had stopped reading for fun altogether. In the episode I also share the latest book I've been reading which highlights the immigrant journey and inspired me in so many ways.
