The Scillies 60 is a new race for 2023. 60km spread over 6 legs on 5 of the islands of the Isles of Scilly - starting and finishing on Tresco and following the coast path to complete a lap of each island.

So here how it works:

The first leg is around 10km on Tresco and runners have 63 minutes in which to complete it. If you make the cut off you’re on the boat to the next island. To ensure runners know that the timer is in synch with their own timings with 2 minutes to go the Claxon sounds. It then sounds again to indicate time’s up. You have to cross the leg finishing line before the second claxon or you’re out.
Then's its over to Bryher (8km) followed by St Martins 9.5km), St Marys (18km) and St Agnes (8.5km) before returning for a shorter 6km run on Tresco to the finish.

The female and male winner of each island leg received a special island winners shirt and the overall race leader gets to wear the race leader shirt.

The cut off times in terms of pace are the same throughout - 12 minutes per mile or 7.5 minutes per km. That sounds fine if you’re out running on the roads but this is largely on the ups and downs of the coastal path.

As you will hear Tracy missed the cut off at the end of leg 4 by just 21 seconds.

Stuart finished 8th overall in a total time of 6:18:13 - the winning time was 4:50:25

There is a great video on the Scillies 60 website documenting the event.
The race limit was 75 and 24 runners finished.
