Facing Trauma and Finding Connection
In recent weeks, the Santa Barbara area endured devastating wildfires, mudslides, and immense personal loss. Yet, through the pain, our community has come together stronger. The resilience and support shown during these times highlight the beauty of connection.
I personally experienced a week of challenges:
- My son’s cross-country move to Nashville coincided with these events.
- A severe storm caused a nine-car accident involving him. Thankfully, he is okay, though his car was totaled.
A Historical Lesson in Resilience
The story of the La Purísima Mission in California is a testament to the human spirit. After a massive earthquake in 1812 leveled the mission, it was fully rebuilt in just nine months. This story reminds us of our ability to rebuild and renew, no matter how dire the circumstances.
The Call to Rebuild and Transform
Whether it’s recovering from a disaster, moving through personal loss, or embarking on a new dream, the path forward begins with:
- Belief in your potential and the possibilities ahead.
- Openness to receiving support and guidance.
