Amie's journey into activism against human trafficking started unexpectedly after her daughter became a victim to the sex trafficking ring. Living a life filled with family, fitness, and community involvement, everything changed overnight when her daughter took a trip with her friends to Las Vegas.
Reflecting on the years leading up to her daughters abduction, Amie realizes there were red flags they missed. Now, she's passionate about educating others to recognize warning signs. We never think something like this could be happening around our home towns.
When her daughter was taken, it shook her family to the core. They stayed up nights, tirelessly searching for answers. Despite the lack of support from a few local government agencies, the family refused to give up. Eventually, an organization reached out, offering much-needed assistance.
Amie's mission now includes dispelling misconceptions about human trafficking. She believes education is key to understanding its pervasive nature. Looking ahead, she advocates for proactive measures locally and globally.
Through her fitness business and the "Save the Next Girl Boy" movement, Amie continues her fight. While taking time to heal, she remains dedicated to raising awareness and organizing events to support survivors and prevent future victimization.
