Aloha and welcome to the Sobriety Rocks podcast. In this episode we talk about when we were young in recovery. All the fun things you did in early recovery, from roundups, retreats, campouts and conventions to sit-ins, late night coffee, bowling and bonfires? What are you still doing today? What’s one thing you can start doing to keep your recovery exciting? What can you do to help the new member have fun in recovery?

A few of the things I’ll do are, I’ll get a commitment at a weekend speaker meeting, bonfire meeting, or beach meeting and do the meeting before and after the meeting, I’ll also get my wife and we’ll start playing with one of our local informal weekly sober pickleball groups, and I’ll check out our local recovery websites and make announcements at my meetings about events to let new members know there are fun things happening every day in recovery.

So, my questions for you are: What are some of the fun things you did in early recovery that you don’t do anymore? What’s one thing you can start doing to keep your recovery exciting? What can you do to help the new member have fun in recovery?

So, no matter where you are, please check your local recovery website for up-to-date events, visit the events section of RecoveryHQ.com/Events, or call our team directly and we’ll help you find fun things to do in your area. We end with a brief meditation to help get us centered.
