Ep. 62 Tara Jensen
Manage episode 379484246 series 3308524
On this episode, I am joined by Tara Jensen. Tara is the face behind the popular parenting blog British Columbia Mom. Tara shares her experience getting diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder and ADHD. We discuss what she found worked about our Canadian healthcare system and what changes we both wish would happen. We do discuss her experience with medications, which does come with a trigger warning as it did initially cause suicidal and intrusive thoughts. She lets us know what anxiety looks like for her and some of the boundaries that she has implemented to avoid triggers. She also lets us know what it can be like for a content creator who is confident and outgoing online and the struggle it can be to create the same demeanor in person.
We discuss the mental health epidemic that we frequently see in our province specifically and how there are so many large gaps that need to be filled. When it comes to homeless specifically and how much kinder we would hope that people would be.
If you are having thoughts of suicide please contact: 1-833-456-4566 or 911.
