Bone recession, reduced bone metraculae, is where bones become weak and brittle, which are part of the diagnosis of osteoporosis. Bone is living tissue being replaced and broken down all at the same time and as time goes on, the difference between replacement and breaking down become larger the bone weakens and breaks causing fractures.
