Shea Aquilano is an elite trail and ultra runner, who at the age of 23 can already be considered a veteran of the sport. She boasts an impressive resume of top finishes at some of the country's most competitive races, in distances from the 50 mile to the 100 mile, including representing Team USA at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships!
She ended a busy 2024 in epic fashion with a win at the Jackson County 100k in her home state of Indiana - and finding out mid-race that her name was drawn in the Western States lottery!
In this episode, Lauren and Shea discuss her early interest in running long distances, as she transitioned from a high school soccer player to running and winning her first 50-miler at age 19. Shea is a student of the sport, learning and growing her way through each race and training block; applying her experience to consistently improve on each new starting line - while following a true sense of passion and joy for what she does!
