In this week’s episode of Weight Loss Doesn’t Have to Suck, we’re tackling the sneaky influence of diet mentality and how it can actually slow down your weight loss progress. Many of us don’t even realize we’ve been conditioned by diet culture our entire lives, leading us to view food in terms of rigid rules and restrictions. I’ll share personal stories from my own weight loss journey and a recent coaching session that highlight how labeling foods as "good" or "bad" can backfire, causing more overeating and stalling weight loss efforts.

We'll dive into why this restrictive mentality around food—though well-intentioned—often leads to the opposite of what we want. You might think avoiding "bad" foods will help you stay on track, but in reality, it creates a cycle of deprivation and overindulgence. I’ve experienced it firsthand, and so have many of my clients, like the one I’ll be discussing in this episode. This mindset not only makes weight loss harder, but it also takes away the joy of eating.

Instead of rigid rules, I’ll show you how to find and release those hidden diet mentality thoughts and embrace joyful eating—where you can enjoy all foods in a way that feels balanced and empowering. This shift makes weight loss not only doable but sustainable. Tune in to learn how changing your mindset around food can transform your relationship with eating and finally lead to the results you’ve been working so hard to achieve.
