One of the most popular keys to a successful marriage is “compromise.” In our experience that is one of the most destructive methods in a marriage. The word compromise means “accepting a standard lower than is desirable.” Is that what you want for your marriage? I would think not but that is how many deal with disagreements. When we compromise in a disagreement, each side gives up something they want and we agree on something we can both agree upon even if it’s not the best. So how do you get past disagreements if you don’t compromise? Come up with a better solution than either of you came into the argument with. The choices shouldn’t just be yours and hers/his. It should be yours, hers/his, or a new solution. Kay Lee and I know treat our disagreements as an opportunity to come up with an even better solution. Tune in to hear how we do it. Thriving in Tandem: The podcast for married entrepreneurs

Going from owning multiple successful businesses, fancy cars, and homes to living in a van and couch surfing. How would your marriage survive this? Hopefully, you’ll never have to find out but you can listen to this week’s guests, Tim and Glori Winders, to find out how they did it. The 2008 recession destroyed their real estate business and by 2013 lost the other businesses, filed for bankruptcy, lost their home, and moved into the van. Yes, there were some finger-pointing, arguments, and other challenges in their marriage. But ultimately, they pulled together, leaned on each other for strength, and came back stronger. Even though they are professionally successful once again, they’ve chosen to live simply, be better stewards of their money, live in their motorhome Theo by choice, and make an impact. You’ll definitely want to hear their story. Tim’s website: https://timwinders.com/ Tim’s podcast: https://seekgocreate.com/ Glori’s website: https://liveglorified.com/ Questions How did you get through the bankruptcy? Glori, were you angry at Tim for putting you in this mess? You talk about prioritizing faith, family, then business in that order. Have you always thought that way or was there a before and after moment? What do you think about the “hustle” culture that we are raised in? Is it possible for an entrepreneur to rest? What did you learn during the season of everything, literally, being stripped away? You live and travel in a motorhome named Theo. Talk to us. We “lived” on the road for 6 weeks and it was exhausting toward the end. How do you do that full time without getting on each other’s nerves? How do you have “me” time in a motorhome? Working together can be tough, how have you been able to have success doing it? How have balance in your life when you feel the tension of the demands of the business? Talk to us about your book Coach and "Read Through the Bible" Tim Winders and his wife Glori Winders are experienced public speakers, podcast hosts, and lifestyle entrepreneurs who aim to inspire and empower others. Married for over 35 years, the couple has built successful careers in business, ministry, coaching, writing, health, and more. In 2008, Tim lost his real estate companies in the market crash. By 2013, he and Glori were bankrupt and homeless, living in their Honda van. Since then, they have rebuilt their lives as nomadic entrepreneurs. They have been traveling full-time for over 10 years. For the last 5 years they have lived, worked, and traveled in their motorhome they lovingly call Theo. Tim is the host of the SeekGoCreate podcast, where he interviews guests on redefining success. He is also an executive coach and author of the inspirational novel Coach. Glori founded Live Glorified, a faith-based lifestyle brand for women. She created the popular "Read Through the Bible" program and Bible Dashboard. With their experience overcoming adversity, Tim and Glori provide wisdom and perspective on pursuing purpose and living life to the fullest. As devoted parents of two grown children and grandparents of two, they understand balancing family, faith, and work. Audiences appreciate the couple’s authenticity, humor, and compassion.
