BEST DOG BREEDS FOR FAMILIES:

According to a survey of 10 expert pet websites…

1. Mutt/Rescue: The shelter or rescue workers spend their days caring for the dogs, so they can let you know about the ins and outs of a dog’s personality and habits.

2. Tie: Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever: They are both famous for their happy disposition and being child-friendly.

3. Beagle: Positively adorable and definitely kid-appropriate, beagles are “merry, friendly, and curious.”

4. French Bulldog: The current Instagram “It” dog is great for families who don’t do a lot of extended outdoor activities. They are easygoing, and not terribly athletic.

5. Tie: Irish Setter/Poodle: Irish setters are “outgoing, sweet-natured, active, and trainable,” while poodles are a very smart and gentle breed, and popular among allergy-sufferers.

JOBS TO AVOID:

An AskReddit thread posed the question: What careers would you advise young people to AVOID? Here are some of the answers…

✗ Warehouse work: “Your fellow co-workers are tired and overworked. The pay is just enough to live…but you will often be tired due to long hours…no room for growth within the company, and management is concerned more with production numbers than your health and safety.”

✗ Oil industry: “That’s a rollercoaster of a career where you will be job hopping forever, moving, or looking for a job often. Whenever the oil prices tank…you may lose your job.”

✗ Film industry: “…there is no job security. Oh, you got a job on a season of a TV show? Enjoy it while it lasts because 7 months from now, you’re going to be looking for a new job again once the season ends!”

✗ Lawyer: (unless your family owns a law firm) “I have” 4+ years in business and still trying to find my right connects and industry links. My employer treats me like (crap), no paid extra hours, tons of paperwork and even small mistakes could throw away everything you have worked so hard for.”

✗ Physical therapist: “It’s a doctoral degree now, with all the costs associated with that. Jobs are always available but the pay will vary from $45k to $120k. Raises are non existent. “

✗ Cook/chef: “Unless you like (crap) pay and long hours of sweaty work on your feet under extremely high pressure and ridiculous deadlines. Also, good luck getting any respect from people older than you.”

✗ Teaching: “Having homework for the rest of your life is nightmarish, not to mention all the other (crap) wrong with it. Thank god I got out. I taught at community colleges…so in a way I had the “easy” version…Can’t imagine how anyone deals with parents and public school (crap).”

✗ I.T.: “Don’t do it. If you like computers, be a coder. You’ll make 5 times as much, and you won’t have to deal with 3 am calls because some (idiot’s) router needs to be restarted.”

WATER COOLER QUESTION:
