Stephen was one of the original seven that was appointed by the church in Acts 6. The Bible tells us that he was a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit. In chapter six we also see the Jews disputing with Stephen, and "they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake(Acts 6:10)." Therefore, they falsely accuse him of blasphemy. In chapter seven we see Stephen's response to these accusations. He does not defend himself, but rather proclaims what God had done. This sermon begins with Abraham, and it closes with the persecution of the prophets who proclaimed the coming of the "Just One(Acts 7:52)." At the end of this chapter we will be introduced to a young man named Saul, who consented unto the death of Stephen.…

In this chapter seven holy men of God would be chosen to serve tables. At the end of the chapter, we see one man Stephen who would be falsely accused of blasphemy. In the next chapter we will Stephen's defense not of himself, but of his faith.
In this chapter we will see a church that was unstoppable. When sin crept into the church, it was removed. Then there came outside oppostion, which tried to silence them. Peter and the other apostles said, "We ought to obey God rather than men(Acts 5:29)."
In this chapter we will see the effects of the lame man being healed. First of all Peter preaches to the people and 5,000 men believed. Then we see the response of the religious crowd. Peter and John were commanded to not speak or teach in the name of Jesus. They said, "we cannnot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:20)…
