While society has come a long way in embracing women as leaders, we still have a ways to go. That's especially true in the Church, where female pastors are few and far between and the path to leadership positions is often rockier and more treacherous for women than it is for men. And when women do make it to the top and are in leadership positions, the support structure, respect from subordinates and perceptions of their personality are often far different than they are for their male counterparts.

Carolyn Moore is hoping to change that narrative, or at least spark a conversation that moves the needle in that direction. The founding pastor of Mosaic Church in Evans, Georgia, Moore is also the author of a newly released book, "When Women Lead: Embrace Your Authority, Move Beyond Barriers, and Find Joy in Leading Others."

This week on the podcast, she shares her heart behind the book and her heart for seeing everyone — both male and female — get to enter into situations where they are able to respond to the calling God has put on their heart to lead, free of any barriers. In both her book and this conversation, she shares what some of those barriers are, what some potential causes are and how to break them down. This is a conversation both men and women need to hear.

Moore has an MDiv and Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary with a focus on church planting. She co-hosts a podcast and writes on topics of
holiness, healing, supernatural ministry, and Wesleyan theology at artofholiness.com.
