Relationships are hard, and sometimes they can be especially challenging to navigate in the workplace. Chances are you've worked with a person or two that, for whatever reason, were just hard to jive with. Maybe you've been passed over for a promotion or to be the lead on a project and that's made it hard to work with others. Whatever the reason is, it can be an awkward thing.

But that's the topic this week as Dr. Jennifer Thomas joins the show to discuss her book, "Making Things Right at Work: Increase Teamwork, Resolve Conflict, and Build Trust," which she co-authored with Gary Chapman — author of The Five Love Languages — and Dr. Paul White. Thomas is an author, a TEDx speaker, and a clinical and community psychologist. She's also an expert on apology, having co-authored "The 5 Apology Languages" with Chapman.

There are so many practical takeaways from this conversation, from dealing with bitterness, envy, and comparison to simply being able to apologize and communicate effectively. What's your biggest takeaway from this conversation? Let us know in a review on Apple Podcasts!

You can find more on Dr. Thomas, including her other works and social media channels, at her website drjenniferthomas.com.
