Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!
Happy New Year everyone! Now that 2023 is behind us, we can look back and reflect on the wild year that it was. Lots of major games got released, mores than in a typical year. We also had a lot of industry shaping events taking place, dominated by the ongoing battle and conclusion of the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard. I go over the biggest headlines of the year and also reflect on the various hardware that came out in the year and my takes on them. Although I'm not yet ready to crown the overall game of the year for 2023, there are various other "best of" categories I can complete! You can consider this part 1 of my game of the year awards for 2023. Tune in to hear what all the non-game-of-the-year awards are and who the big winners are!
