Often we go about our daily lives without ever considering whether those closest to us might actually harm us... but sometimes, we are exposed to issues of people in our community facing overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and fear... fear of people in their own home.
The Gianino brothers had the eye-opening experience of sitting down with retired Judge Michael Burton and Ema Remtula as they described the mission of St. Louis Survivors Legal Support ("SLSLS") https://www.slsls.org/. SLSLS offers zealous advocacy and meaningful access to justice for victims of intimate partner violence and their children.
This episode is packed with information regarding the challenges faced by people afraid to take action and desperately in need of support. Judge Burton and Ema emphasize the importance of listening, believing, and supporting when it comes to assisting victims of intimate partner violence.
