Laura's inspiration came from a spontaneous trip to Daufuskie Island, a coastal gem between Hilton Head and Savannah, Georgia. What started as a simple getaway turned into a life-changing adventure when her family bought property on the island. Despite facing hurricanes, resort bankruptcies, and countless setbacks, Laura's determination never wavered.
Amid the 2020 pandemic, she seized the opportunity to help revive the island's resort, leveraging her professional skills and eventually finding a buyer and operator. Balancing a full-time job and family, Laura overcame doubts and negativity from those around her.
