When he was learning to speak during childhood, Rob could only say vowels (no consonants), yet now he is a coach helping others with autism. Despite being bullied incessantly because of his stuttering, Hodes did not let this affect him in the long term. It was not until 2005 that Rob was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome/High Functioning Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and many years were lost where he could not form or keep good relationships until he learned the reasons why he was different.
