The discussion explores their experiences with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and how it helps guide leadership and business success. Cameron shares insights from his upbringing with a visionary father, the trials of leading a family business, and transitioning into EOS implementation. They delve into the complexities of leadership, decision-making in imperfect scenarios, and the parallels between leading in business and family life. The conversation also highlights the importance of vulnerability, constant learning, and drawing inspiration from diverse sources. Whether you're navigating tough decisions or seeking balance, this conversation is for you. Listen now and share with a fellow leader who would benefit from this inspiring chat. About Cameron After university Cam worked for several years in Banking and Finance, moving into the family business in the early 2000’s. In existence for 40 years the company started off a repacker of confectionery and grew to be one of the largest importers and distributors in Australia. As a 2nd generation leader, I came into the business; learning from “in” the business how to do things, which had both good and bad consequences. Over the 20 years in the business, where we experienced the full roller coaster ride – ransomware, flooding, integrating the rise of China as a food manufacturer into our operation, achieving growth in a consolidating market, transitioning from a small to medium business, impacting the confectionery category as small supplier, innovating the sales model, and navigating COVID. As owners, successfully handled the succession from 1st generation, starting / closing / selling several ancillary businesses. Navigating the personal ownership / management conflicts and then negotiating a sale to my business partner. Dealing with the moral dilemma, supplier / staff / familial expectations, and commitments, navigating relationships once you let the cat out the bag. And dealing with my son crying when I told him I was no longer the candy man!! My personal passion is Coaching; Sporting and other as a profession, the activity of helping people be better versions of themselves is very exciting to me! In this week's episode we hear from our Frank and Fearless associate coach Kelly Feehan who talks to us about questions. She tells some of her top questions that she has been asked in coaching and the ones she asks a coach. We discuss the ways in which people can feel connected within their organisations and how even with a work from home culture there are still ways to help people feel part of the team. We talk about the effects lockdowns had on teams with some surprising benefits. Key to this episode is Roger's explanation of the importance of clarity for your business. We talk about the difference between working in and on your business and the power that a clarity break can have. The topics of trust, speaking our truth and the importance of space and time for business owners are discussed and I know that this episode will have an impact for you. About Roger: Roger Vertannes is the Founder of Leadership Counts and is a leading Certified EOS® Implementer . EOS®, the Entrepreneurial Operating System is a complete set of simple concepts and practical tools that has helped thousands of entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses. Born in London, the youngest of 10 children, Roger is a dedicated family man, husband, and father of two. He loves to share his knowledge, expertise and business journey to help entrepreneurs to clarify, simplify and achieve their vision. From age 24, he successfully managed the growth of his family-owned freight forwarding company, then a soul-searching moment led him to use his passion for sport and health to co-found his UK sports enterprise. He built and sold the company in 2006 to achieve his dream of settling in Australia. Roger’s journey includes helping Australian business owners achieve their succession plan. As a respected and licensed business broker, Roger discovered too many business owners were failing to maximise the value of their enterprise. Roger found this gap astonishing, and the statistics ignited his obsession to help entrepreneurs to get what they want. With his expertise in leadership, management and building high performing teams, Roger has helped business owners of over 400 companies to get the results they want. I do that not by answering their questions, but by questioning their questions. By being Frank and Fearless. I ask tough questions and encourage my clients to say what they really think. I create space to enable them to stop, pause and reflect. Out of that space comes clarity and real opportunities for growth. I help my clients do incredible things. I help them understand that good and bad things happen. Life goes on regardless. What matters is your perspective and how you react to the shit that happens to you. In this week's episode, my co-cost Kelly and I talk to Wise Humanity co-founder Davide Pagnotta. How often do you think about your beliefs? How tightly do you hold on to them? Davide talks to us today about the illusions and beliefs we create in our lives that are not necessarily true and by looking at them we can make shifts. We discuss mental maps, the concept of 'good thing, bad thing, who knows', beliefs and truth. Most of all we are looking at ways to get unstuck and take the first step to a better path for ourselves. Davide is a passionate and thought provoking speaker and you will get so much out of this episode. About Davide: Davide Pagnotta holds an MSc in Physics, an MBA from London Business School and a Coaching Practitioner Diploma from the Academy of Executive Coaching of London. For 20 years, Davide enjoyed an international career in a variety of manufacturing and infrastructure industries. His corporate life culminated in heading a Business Unit for a global Engineering and Construction company. He then decided he had achieved the zenith of his corporate career and could use his leadership and people skills in a more fulfilling, impactful way. That’s when he became a coach, a teacher of personal growth programs at The Rao Institute, and later a co-founder of Wise Humanity. Davide’s vision is to launch and support individuals and businesses on a journey of enhanced fulfilment and higher empowerment, to build a better future for themselves, their communities and the planet. Among other eclectic interests, Davide enjoys painting oil portraits, has a passion for different forms of theatre, and is an avid book reader, cinema goer and globe trotter.
