Gojko Adzic - Lizard Optimization Look who's back! Gojko Adzic will present us his new book Lizard Optimization: Unlock product growth by engaging long-tail users. As we read on the back cover: "Lizard Optimization is a technique for designing product development experiments by engaging long-tail users that seem to follow some unexplainable "lizard" logic. It can help you understand your audience better and improve your products. The method is based on the author's experience managing an online software product that grew explosively from November 2021 to November 2022. The key user metric, tracking when people are getting value from the product, increased by more than 500 times in those 12 months (times, not percent). This happened after a period of unremarkable growth and a slow decline. Looking back, the key factor in reversing the decline and unlocking exponential growth was a counter-intuitive approach to engaging users. This book is a summary of the key lessons from that crazy growth phase, synthesized into a simple process that you can apply to improve your products, and help you unlock growth, reduce churn and increase revenue." And as usual - plenty of space for your questions! 🎙 Speaker Gojko Adzic 📰 Bio Gojko is a partner at Neuri Consulting LLP. He is one of the 2019 AWS Serverless Heroes, the winner of the 2016 European Software Testing Outstanding Achievement Award, and the 2011 Most Influential Agile Testing Professional Award. Gojko’s book Specification by Example won the Jolt Award for the best book of 2012, and his blog won the UK Agile Award for the best online publication in 2010. 👩🏫👨🏫 Training from the BACK of the Room (TBR) - Panel and Q&A with Jean-Paul Bayley and Marco Dussin 🎙️ Time to talk about Training from the BACK of the Room (TBR)... again! We welcome the opportunity to discuss this revolutionary teaching method with Jean-Paul Bayley, one of the most prominent folks in the TBR community and the European Certifier for Training from the BACK of the Room!, together with Marco Dussin, who's been teaching the first-ever Italian in-person version of the workshop in the past years. 😎 Fun facts - all of our training courses are designed according to the TBR principles, and did you know that Marco got his certification during a workshop led by Jean-Paul himself? We'll discuss what TBR is, and why it is such a game-changer whether you're a facilitator, coach, team leader, and its relevance anytime you'll simply need to enable the transmission of knowledge among adults. As usual, you'll have a chance to interact with Jean-Paul and Marco and your fellow participants by joining the YouTube chat during the live streaming. Domain-Driven Design, Aggregates and EventStorming - An Evening with Mariusz Gil Aggre-what? Lots of talking about aggregates in the DDD world, yet one of the questions we receive more often at workshops and during events is... what is an aggregate "exactly"? How do you design a good aggregate? DDD expert Mariusz Gil's got the answer. Let's find out in this presentation, based on a concrete and real example, where you can ask questions through the YouTube chat in real-time. 👉 Title Designing and Implementing Aggregates 📝 Abstract One technique of the Domain-Driven design approach is the Aggregate concept. This well-applied pattern of tactical DDD allows us to safely perform complex data modifications in a system, making it bulletproof regarding data consistency and correctness. However, designing such objects is sometimes problematic, as is discovering important immutables whose consistency we should guarantee. During the session, we will go through the process of analyzing, modelling and implementing a sample aggregate using a concrete example. We will also learn about principles, good and bad modelling practices, helpful heuristics, and facilitating the whole analysis and modelling process. As usual, you'll have a chance to interact with Mariusz and your fellow participants by joining the YouTube chat during the live streaming. Plenty of space for your questions: let's make this interactive! 📅 When Thursday 9th March 2023, 6.30 pm CET 🇬🇧 Language English 🎙 Speaker Mariusz Gil 📰 Bio Software architect, trainer, consultant and ex-CTO, involved in the IT industry for over 23 years. Wardley Mapping 🤘 An Evening with Ben Mosior, Xin Yao, Marijn Huizendveld and Marco Heimeshoff on Wardley Mapping and more One of the most interesting and useful approaches out there, Wardley Mapping has been fascinating us since the beginning. Two years ago we had the opportunity to host Simon Wardley, the man himself, for a 3-hour Bootcamp which served as an intro to Wardley Mapping, and we're now happy to be able to offer another training course on the same topic with one of the most well-known experts on the field, Mr. Ben Mosior. And so we thought, why don’t we organize a panel to talk a bit more about Wardley Mapping with Ben and some of our experts who already know Wardley mapping quite well? Once again, this will be a highly interactive event, and with Xin, Marijn and Marco we’ll try to understand why Wardley Mapping is useful, we’ll learn about some real-case scenarios where it’s been implemented successfully, how to get started, and what challenges it represents. So join us for this panel with Ben Mosior, Xin Yao, Marijn Huizendveld and Marco Heimeshoff and, in pure Avanscoperta fashion, there will be plenty of space for your questions. 🇬🇧 Language English 🎙 Panelists Ben Mosior, Xin Yao, Marijn Huizendveld and Marco Heimeshoff 📰 Bio Ben: Ben Mosior is a curator of strange and interesting methods for people who care. He integrates transition design, systems modeling, and conditions-consequences philosophy into powerful, practical approaches to change management and strategy. Xin: Sociotechnical architect at Danske Bank. She believes that a product, domain and team-oriented architecture is the super glue to bind multiple agile teams navigating toward a common horizon. In her organization’s recently Spotified landscape where a team’s cognitive capacity is under constant stress, she practices domain-driven design and facilitates collaborative modeling to help teams make sense, make decisions and make intuitive business software. Marijn: Marijn Huizendveld is a software quality consultant who lives and works in Amsterdam. He intentionally works for either startups or large corporates, the contrast between them can lead to great insights in how people build software. Over the past 10 years he learned what it takes to build software that solves a problem while simultaneously contributing to the bottom line of the organization. Marco: Marco Heimeshoff is a Trainer, EventStorming Facilitator, Speaker, Software developer from Germany. With over a decade of experience, he is helping teams to change and teaches them all things from code to culture and to master Domain-Driven Design, Agile software development, functional programming and CQRS with event sourcing. ✔ Save the link, activate and allow the notifications from YouTube, or subscribe to our YouTube channel http://bit.ly/SubscribeAvanscoperta and never miss our next free online event or an update from Avanscoperta. Team Topologies e altri modelli organizzativi: An Evening With Alessandro Giardina, Francesca Carta e Luca Cioria Cosa è Team Topologies? 🤘 An Evening with Jurgen Appelo and Alberto Brandolini on The unFIX Model for Versatile Organizations and more What comes after Management 3.0, SAFe, and the Spotify Model? Well, it’s not hard to see in which direction the world is moving: organizations that consist of networked individuals who work from anywhere, who form teams on the fly, who aim for objectives and achieve results, and make that a whole lotta fun for themselves. Such an organization can do anything! All organizations need business agility and continuous innovation. But if you work exclusively with dedicated teams that always need to go through forming, storming, and norming stages before they can finally perform, you’re out of luck. That’s neither agile nor innovative. The accelerated pace of change in the world asks for more fluidity of work structures and a switch from dedicated teams to dynamic teaming. We'll talk about this with Jurgen Appelo and Alberto Brandolini and, in pure Avanscoperta fashion, there will be plenty of space for your questions. 🎙 Speakers Jurgen Appelo and Alberto Brandolini 📰 Bio Jurgen: a writer, speaker, trainer, entrepreneur, illustrator, developer, manager, blogger, reader, dreamer, leader, freethinker, and… Dutch guy. Since 2008 Jurgen writes a popular blog at www.noop.nl , that covers topics including Agile management, software engineering, business improvement, personal development, and complexity theory. He is the author of the book Management 3.0: Leading Agile Developers, Developing Agile Leaders, which describes the role of the manager in Agile organizations. Alberto: EventStorming Creator, author of Introducing EventStorming - An act of deliberate collective learning and Founder of Avanscoperta, Alberto Brandolini is an all-around consultant in the Information Technology field. 🇮🇹 Lingua: italiano 👉 Titolo A gentle introduction to Microservices 📰 Abstract Cosa sono i microservizi? 🤘 An Evening with Marco Heimeshoff on Domain-Driven Design and Functional Programming We're back, and we present the first meetup of the season: Marco Heimeshoff will talk about Domain-Driven Design and Functional Programming. Wait, what? yes, that's right: this strange couple can help you bring the best out of your domain models as well as help you build simple, decoupled and behaviour-rich systems. 🇬🇧 Language English 👉 Title Building better domain models with functions 🔶 Abstract Functional programming has gained popularity in the last years, and rightfully so. Despite being the older of the two most used paradigms in software development, it is still a pretty rare find in the line of business software. And yet, functional programming offers a simpler, cleaner and better-aligned way to implement complex domain models without a lot of the overhead that OOP brings along. Let's explore when and how functional programming can bring the best out of your domain models and how to build simple, decoupled and behaviour-rich systems. No upfront knowledge in DDD, F# or functional programming is necessary. 🎙 Speaker Marco Heimeshoff 📰 Bio Marco Heimeshoff is a trainer, speaker and software developer from Germany. He organizes KanDDDinsky, a conference about Domain-Driven Design and the art of business software and co-founded the german DDD community in 2013 and VirtualDDD.com in 2019. Between consulting companies around the globe and his day job in building health care software you’ll find him speaking at conferences about DDD, socio-technical systems and first principles. 👉 Marco is the author of a 5-module online workshop called Domain Models in Practice: DDD, CQRS and Event Sourcing. ➡️ https://bit.ly/Marco_Heimeshoff_Avanscoperta_Podcast #DomainDrivenDesign #DDDesign #FunctionalProgramming #FSharp #Software #SoftwareDevelopment #DDD #EventStorming #BoundedContext #SoftwareDeveloper #Sociotechnical #SoftwareArchitecture #OOP #ObjectOrientedProgramming…
