In this episode, we have invited Brittany Hanrahan, a comedian who's all about making everyone laugh. Today, Brittany talks about comedy, reality television, and Airbnb. First Stand-Up [03:37] Chris invited Brittany to do a stand-up comedy after her first show. Phoenix to LA Comedy [05:48] Brittany always wanted to go to LA as she always knew that would be the end game for her, and she was ready for change. [06:09] Brittany shared it doesn't matter how well-connected people are. In LA, people start from the bottom. [06:21] She felt that she was like a little fish in a bigger pond. But Brittany kept on working her way up from the bottom. Hoarding Tendencies [07:58] She thinks that her hoarding habit stems from her family. Whenever Brittany was ready to throw things away, her mom was always there to stop her. Kinds of Shows [13:19] Brittany was doing most of her shows at many bars, and the first show she had was at Woodshed and continuing after three years. Passion and Interest [14:21] Brittany felt that hosting was really for her. She thinks that hosting is fun compared to a headliner and has a different energy. She finds joy when she keeps the crowd alive and keeps them going. [15:29] Brittany attended a backyard stand-up for a whole family where she spent 40 minutes making fun of them and spilling her actual material. The family thanked her for an awesome performance. Type of Comedy [20:04] Brittany shared about how she doesn't mind the travel to her work as she loves it. She said she loves sharing her jokes to different states and learning about different cultures along the way. Brittany also felt like a rockstar as she travels around places for your stand-up shows. [21:15] As Brittany was traveling, she experienced how Airbnb's work. Somehow, she experienced a little bit of awkwardness because her room doesn't have a lock, and she was with the house owner. Uber Driver as Stand-up Comedians [28:02] Brittany uses Uber to get to her work, and when she tells people that she is a comedian, she often hears wacky jokes from the drivers. [29:04] A Uber driver also offered weeds to Brittany when she got inside the car, and she definitely gave him five stars review. Social Media [35:13] Brittany felt like a celebrity whenever she uses TikTok. [36:05] Brittany shared how it's tricky to answer if someone is into social media. Regardless, she works hard when it comes to her social media channels. Reality Shows [37:00] Brittany does quizzes on every ending of bachelor shows, and she continuously tries to build a good question that would catch the public's interest. [38:26] On one of her quizzes, she made a quiz about a show's current episode that asks who Blake will pick between Asia and Hannah. She knew that she made it as a quizzer when Blake answered her difficult question. [40:13] She was very open to reality TV shows and has seen different varieties of them. Acting [41:09] For Brittany, she would love to act and get the opportunity to join the Bachelor show. However, she is afraid not to have the editing rights, especially when she says something inappropriate. [43:06] She said that she doesn't have the emotional balance between handling 25 men in the Bachelor's show if she could be the bachelorette. She joked that the guys would leave because she might be too clingy. Talent Shows [49:07] She concluded that she'd love to do something where she could do a lot of different reality shows as a comedian.
