×Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S20) 🐑 🐑 🐑 The Messenger ﷺ told Uthman Ibn Abu Al-Aas رضي الله عنه: “When leading the people in prayer, use the weakest as your guide, and only appoint a muedhin who calls to prayer at no cost” (I.e for Allah’s (swt) sake). Once Uthmaan Ibn Abu Al-Aas رضي الله عنه noticed an impeding feeling whilst leading the prayer. He went to The Messenger ﷺ and told him of this. The Messenger ﷺ placed his hand on Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه chest and put some spittle into his mouth, he ﷺ said: “Get out, O enemy of Islam” this was done thrice. Thus, the shaytaan left uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه body and he رضي الله عنه said he never felt it again. This is called a ‘Partial possession’, it is the weakest form of possession. There is also a ‘half-possession’ where one is in a normal state, but sometimes slips into a state. A child had this at the time of our Messenger ﷺ and he ﷺ treated him also. The worst state of possession is the ‘complete possession’ the person is in a complete state, where the Shayateen takes control and the person loses his senses. A person also had this at the time our Messenger ﷺ, he ﷺ turned him around and struck his back whilst commanding the shaytaan to leave. The persons eyes returned to normal and the people said he was now the best amongst his people. A fee can be taken for performing Ruqya, however it shouldn’t be too much as to cause strain on the family providing it. A woman offered the Messenger ﷺ three sheep but he ﷺ only took one.…
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S19) The Thaqeef began negotiating about their Idol, Arrabbah. They asked The Messenger ﷺ if they could keep it for 3 years, The Messenger ﷺ said no. 2 years, 1 year, 1 month? All these were declined. They said we cannot destroy it ourselves, so The Messenger ﷺ said someone will be sent to deal with it. The Thaqeef delegation asked if they could go back to their people first, as to inform them of the situation. When they returned to their people, they put on an act, claiming: “This man [i.e ﷺ] is the most harsh, and he rules by the sword! He has prohibited Khamr, Zina and Riba and our idol!” The Thaqeef people were completely against this, and said to prepare for war. Some time passed and they calmed down, they then said: “Accept whatever he ﷺ says, we will follow him”. The delegation then dropped their act and said: “We have already done so. He ﷺ is not harsh nor does he lead by the sword. He is the softest and humblest of creation. We said the contrary first to rid you of your pride”. The entire tribe (رضي الله عنهم) then embraced Islam. The youngest among the delegation, Uthman Ibn Abu Al-Aas رضي الله عنه was made the Ameer of his people. Why? - For Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه said: “He is the one most eager to learn the religion and the Qur’an”. He spent a few days with The Messenger ﷺ and was learning the religion. Thus, wisdom is not linked to age nor experience, rather it is from Allah SWT.…

1 S18 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - The Thaqeef began negotiations with our Messenger ﷺ. 25:31
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S18) The Thaqeef began negotiations with our Messenger ﷺ. They asked if they could be excused from Fardh prayers, as they found it demeaning. Our Messenger ﷺ replied: “There is no goodness in Islam without Salah”. Our Messenger ﷺ: “Embrace Islam, even if you have doubts”. A common misconception is that one must be perfect before embracing Islam. This is opposite to the truth. The Thaqeef asked if they could be excused from Zakat and Jihad, which The Messenger ﷺ said is fine. They requested to be able to still do Zina, Riba and Khamar. Our Messenger ﷺ recited the respective verses prohibiting these things. The delegation were worried that their people back in Ta’if could never handle these conditions. A wise man amongst them said: “Men with him [i.e with The Messenger ﷺ] used to do all these things, now they have quit, so can we”. The only completely non-negotiable thing is Shirk.…

1 S17 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - A delegation of more than 10 nobles from the Thaqeef set off to see The Messenger ﷺ 22:48
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S17) A delegation of more than 10 nobles from the Thaqeef set off to see The Messenger ﷺ - this was some time after the martyrdom of Urwah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه. They was split it into 2 sub-tribes: The Ahlafites, who were hosted by Mugheera رضي الله عنه, and the Malikites, who were hosted by The Messenger ﷺ himself. Our Messenger ﷺ would visit them everyday for long periods of time after Isha. He would mention how the Quraysh treated him. One day The Messenger ﷺ was late to these sessions - when asked why, he ﷺ replied it was due to a portion of the Qur’an that needed be recited. Our Messenger ﷺ would split the Quran into 7 portions and read it within a week.…

1 S16 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - A brief biography on the great uncle of Mugheera رضي الله عنه: Urwah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه. 21:31
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S16) A brief biography on the great uncle of Mugheera رضي الله عنه: Urwah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه. Urwah رضي الله عنه was related to the Quraysh through his mother, through the lineage of Abd Manaf. He رضي الله عنه was related to the Thaqeef through his father. Urwah رضي الله عنه was also related to the Quraysh through marriage ties: He married Abu Sufyan’s daughter, Maymoonah رضي الله عنهم - thus making him the son in law of Abu Sufyan and brother in law of Muawiya رضي الله عنهم. Urwah رضي الله عنه had a son named Da’ood رضي الله عنه, who went to become a great scholar and politician. Our beloved Messenger ﷺ said: “I saw Musa (a.s) and he resembled men from the Shanu'ah tribe. I saw Eesa (a.s) and he resembled Urwah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه. I saw Ibraaheem (a.s), the person he resembled the most was your companion [i.e The Messenger ﷺ himself]”.…
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S15) The martyr of Surah Yaseen: 3 messengers were sent to the city of Antioch, located in modern day southwest Turkey. The 3 messengers were either companions رضي الله عنهم of Eesa (a.s), or they were prophets (a.s) themselves. The king of Antioch rejected them all. When they first arrived to the city, they were greeted by Habib Ibn Ismaaeel an-Najar رضي الله عنه, who is the martyr of Surah Yaseen. He believed in our Messenger ﷺ six hundred years before he, ﷺ, arrived! Habib رضي الله عنه embraced Islam through their hands, and when the people rejected the messengers he stood up for them - ultimately leading to his martyrdom. He was trampled until his intestines poured out of him. Thus, this was the martyr that Urwah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه was likened to. An honour for both blessed souls - separated by 6 centuries yet united by faith and courage.…
Al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S14) The Great Uncle, Urwah رضي الله عنه Al-Mugheera’s great uncle, Urwah Ibn Masood (رضي الله عنهم) embraced Islam in 9 A.H, after the siege of Ta’if and before The Messenger ﷺ returned to Madinah. Mugheera رضي الله عنه was overjoyed, and hosted his uncle - Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه also wanted to host him. After a period of time, Urwah رضي الله عنه asked The Messenger ﷺ if he could return back to his people, to which The Messenger ﷺ didn’t approve of: “I fear they will kill you” - The Messenger ﷺ experienced this treatment himself with the Quraysh. Ultimately Urwah رضي الله عنه returned. He was loved by his people, more beloved to them than their own children. When his people discovered his faith, they cursed and beat him. Later on, Urwah had the honour of giving the first Azhan ever in Ta’if! When Urwah رضي الله عنه stood on his balcony, the people had enough and rained arrows on him - he was struck in an artery which lead to his martyrdom. He رضي الله عنه instructed his family to bury him with the martyrs of the siege of Ta’if. Such was Urwah’s رضي الله عنه honour, having only just embraced Islam in 9 A.H, he achieved martyrdom! He was likened to the man who was also martyred in Surah Yaseen [36:19]. His immediate family (رضي الله عنهم) left for Madinah upon his martyrdom - he left behind a widow, Maymoonah رضي الله عنها who al-Mugheera رضي الله عنه married. He had a child and named him ‘Urwah’ to honour his great uncle.…

1 S13 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - Hasan al-Basri (r.h): “70 companions رضي الله عنهم told me that The Messenger ﷺ wiped over leather socks”. 30:28
al-Mugheera Ibn Shu’ba رضي الله عنه (S13) al-Mugheera رضي الله عنه narrates: “The Messenger ﷺ performed wudhu and wiped over his Jawrabayn and his sandles”. This Hadith is the only ‘Sahih’ report regarding the wiping over normal socks. However, the shuyukh, such as Imam Ahmed, Sufyan at-Thawri (r.h) have stated this Hadith is infact weak. This is due to 2 narrators in the Hadith chain who used the word ‘Jawrabayn’ I.e normal socks, but the Hadith mentions ‘Huff’ I.e leather socks. Thus it is agreed that one can only wipe over leather socks, and not normal socks as we see today. Hasan al-Basri (r.h): “70 companions رضي الله عنهم told me that The Messenger ﷺ wiped over leather socks”. One cannot wipe over leather socks if a bath is needed - wiping can only be done for wudhu. Mugheera رضي الله عنه elucidated that it is sunnah to wipe over the right foot with the right hand, and wipe over the left foot with the left hand. The Messenger ﷺ recieved leather socks [Huff] as a gift from Negus (r.h).…
The Wry Guard, Session 12 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). Khuff- footwear Abu Bakr (ra) leads the Asr prayer. 'In Arabic "khuff"' refers to shoes that cover the entire foot including the ankle. Since khuff is translated as "leather socks" these days, people then confuse them with today's regular socks and, therefore, consider it permissible to wipe over them as well- (however) it is very clear from studying the Ahaadeeth that khuff were not socks, but rather shoe (i.e footwear used to walk with).…
The Wry Guard, Session 11 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). Fajr - A prayer done with excellence. Mugheerah (ra) performs ablution with The Messenger ﷺ during the expedition to Tabook, thereafter caught the prayer led by Abdurehman ibn Auf (ra). A Prophet was never taken until he had prayed behind a righteous man of his community (Ibn Saa'd).…

1 S10 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - 6 months after The Seige of Taa'if The Companions March to Tabook 22:31
The Wry Guard, Session 9 Thursday Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). The narrative of Hadrat Sakhr ibn Ghaylah Ahmasee (ra). O Allah (SWT)! The Wry Guard, Session 9 Wednesday Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). The Seige of Taa'if "O Allah (SWT)! Give guidance to Thaqeef! (Tirmidhi). "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ besieged the people of Taa 'if for some thirty days and then left, not having defeated them. After He ﷺ had returned to Al-Madeenah, a Delegation of them came to Him ﷺ in Ramadaan, and they embraced Islam" (Ibn Ishaaq).…
The Wry Guard, Session 8 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). Hunayn & The Ambush Hadrat Urwah (ra) observing the Companions (ra) very closely. He would say later By Allah (SWT)! Even when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would spit, someone woula catch it and rub it on his face and body... Thus, Hadrat Urwah (ra) was so impressed with the love and devotion of the Noble Companions (ra/a) with regards to Allah's (SWT) Messenger ﷺ that he (ra) had later gone on to say... "O my nation! I have gone to the delegation of kings, Caesar, Chosroes and Neegus, But i have never witnessed a people who have paid more respect to their kings than the Companions (ra) of Muhammad ﷺ to Muhammad ﷺ !" (Bukhari)…

1 S07 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - Mugheerah & his great uncle (ra) exchange a few words at Hudaybiah. 26:19
The Wry Guard, Session 7 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). Abu Dawood (rah) had related the Hadith like this, 'As for the wealth, we have no concern with it.' The Holy Prophet ﷺ thus declared in this Hadith that he accepted his submission to Islaam, but this wealth has been snatched by breach of trust and was a treachery - hence he did not have any desire for this wealth. Mugheerah & his great uncle (ra) exchange a few words at Hudaybiah.…

1 S06 - Hadrat Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) - Al Muqawqis is sat by The Sea when a band of men from Thaqeef visit. 20:22
The Wry Guard, Session 6 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). Al Muqawqis is sat by The Sea when a band of men from Thaqeef visit. Faith does not denote the mere knowledge of something but rather Faith refers to obedience and submission - Heraculis recognised The Signs of Prophethood but did not accept Faith.…
The Wry Guard, Session 5 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). The world leaders are invited to Islam - a unique distinction of The Messenger ﷺ. Haatib The Badri (ra) is sent to Al Muqawqi who now has a slight change of tone. His kingship prevented him from the truth. The Disciples of Isa (A.S.) are commanded to propagate Islam far & wide.…
The Wry Guard, Session 4 Al Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra). The Umrah to Hudaybiah is used as a criterion for those who embraced Islam before & after it. Mugheerah (ra) embraced Islam before The Umrah to Hudaybiah.

Henna & Katam - This is even better Yellow dye - The Best of All (Abu Dawood). "The most cunning of the Arabs are four; Hadrat Mu'aawiyah (ra), Hadrat Amr ibn al-Aas (ra), Hadrat al- Mugheerah ibn Shu'uba (ra) and Ziyaad. Hadrat Mu'aawiyah (ra) shows it in his forbearance and patience Hadrat Amr (ra) in difficulties (ie tight spots). Hadrat al-Mugheerah (ra) in unexpected situations, And Ziyaad in both great and small things (Ibn Asaakir). The judges are 4 ; Hadrat Umar (ra), Hadrat Alee (ra), Hadrat Ibn Mas'ood (ra) and Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra) (Ibn Asaakir). Abu Jahl declares to Mugheerah (ra) "By Allah (SWT)! I know for sure that whatever he ﷺ says is the truth - however, there is only one thing that prevents me from accepting (ie that he belongs to the Banoo Qusayy -the 4th grandfather of our Beloved Messenger [saw] who had united the Quraysh). Abu Jahl states "Verily, We do not belie you (saw) - but we belie that which you have brought!" A verse is thus revealed... "We know well that their talk grieves you-but in truth they do not deny you - but it is the Signs of Allah (SWT) that the evildoers condemn." (Surah 6 : 33).…

1 S18 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Our mother Hafsah رضي الله عنها fell seriously ill and passed away. 24:01
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S18) - Final session In 45 A.H, during the 5th year of Muaviya’s (رضي الله عنه) khilafat, our mother Hafsah رضي الله عنها fell seriously ill and passed away. Thus returned to Allah (swt), Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم: Daughter of Umar and Zainab bint Madhoon (رضي الله عنهم), widow of the Badri, Khunais (رضي الله عنه), the sister of Abdullah Ibn Umar (رضي الله عنهم), niece of Zayd Ibn al-Khattab, Uthman, Abdullah and Qudama Ibn Madhoon (رضي الله عنهم), custodian of the original mushaf, the one whose worship was praised by Allah (swt) Himself, the mother of the believers! Hafsah’s (رضي الله عنها) janazah was lead by Marwan Ibn al-Hakam (r.h). Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه held her bier. She was buried by Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم and his sons; Asim, Hamza and Salim (r.h). Dates when our other mothers (رضي الله عنهم) passed away: [44 A.H] Umm Habeebah [50 A.H] Juwayriya [51 A.H] Maymoonah [54 A.H] Sawdah The status of our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) can be determined from the following verse: Surah [33:32]: “O wives of the Prophet [ﷺ] you are not like other women”.…

1 S17 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم)- A battle took place between our mother Aisha’s رضي الله عنها forces and the rebels 24:18
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S17) Hukaym Ibn Jabalah - one of the chiefs of the khawarij. He initiated a fight against our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها. Our mother instructed her forces not to fight, and to only defend themselves. Aisha رضي الله عنها had rallied an army - it was fit for her to lead as she was the most knowledgeable of the Messenger’s ﷺ wives. These rebels tried assassinating Aisha (رضي الله عنها) - they were caught outside her door and executed. Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم made the dua: “O Allah (swt), destroy those who killed Uthmaan (رضي الله عنه)”. A battle took place between our mother Aisha’s رضي الله عنها forces and the rebels who rallied an army. They were all wiped out, except one. This silences those who claim nothing good came out of Aisha’s رضي الله عنها stance. Shortly after this battle, the battle of the camel took place. Shayateens on both sides instigated it - ultimately Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم were martyred. Aisha رضي الله عنها thought due to her status and rights over the believers, that her stance would not end in violence. Aisha رضي الله عنها later grieved over this endeavour. Both sides of this story were in the right - the companions (رضي الله عنهم) were all right in their respective positions. When Ameer Muaviya (رضي الله عنه) became the next caliph, our mother Hafsah رضي الله عنها was ~58 years old.…

1 S16 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - During the fitnah in Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه khilafat, our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) went to perform Hajj 32:05
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S16) During the fitnah in Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه khilafat, our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) went to perform Hajj to leave the chaos. Our mother Umm Habeeba رضي الله عنها being from the same tribe as Uthmaan رضي الله عنه, wanted to help him. She went on her mule to supply some water, however she was stopped by the rebels - they struck her mule and it bolted. Our mother رضي الله عنها was almost killed. These rebels had the audacity to attack their mother… Aisha رضي الله عنها left Madinah to help ease the situation - she called for her brother, Muhammad رضي الله عنه to come with her, but he refused. Aisha رضي الله عنها said: “If the entire Earth was filled with these rebels, Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه finger would be greater!”. Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم met with our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) at Makkah - plans were taking place for the vengeance of Uthmaan’s assassination. Hafsah رضي الله عنها wanted to go to Busra, however her brother, Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم intervened and she did not proceed.…

1 S15 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Umar al-Farooq رضي الله عنه was martyred and reunited with our beloved Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عن 25:37
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S15) Hafsah رضي الله عنها heard her father رضي الله عنه making the dua: “O my Lord (swt), let me be martyred in your path, let me be martyred in the city of Your beloved (ﷺ)” - Hafsah رضي الله عنها was upset when she heard this. Umar رضي الله عنه made the dua aloud to prepare his daughter for his coming martyrdom. When Umar رضي الله عنه was severely wounded, Hafsah رضي الله عنها entered the room and said: “O companion of our Messenger ﷺ, O father in law of our Messenger ﷺ, O Ameer ul Mumineen!”. Umar رضي الله عنه, in the state he was in, still told his daughter رضي الله عنها to not praise a man for what he doesn’t deserve… Thus, Umar al-Farooq رضي الله عنه was martyred and reunited with our beloved Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. Hafsah رضي الله عنها was around 42 years old. Hafsah رضي الله عنها says to Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم, when he struck Ibn Sayad: “May Allah (swt) have mercy on you! Did not the Messenger ﷺ say that the Dajjal will emerge due to extreme anger”.…

1 S14 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Umar رضي الله عنه fixed a 10,000 dirham stipend for our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) - except Aisha رضي الله عنها, she recieved 12,000. 23:37
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S14) Umar رضي الله عنه fixed a 10,000 dirham stipend for our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) - except Aisha رضي الله عنها, she recieved 12,000. Umar رضي الله عنه said: “For she was more beloved to the Messenger ﷺ”. Umar رضي الله عنه gave 3,500 Dirhams to Usama Ibn Zayd (رضي الله عنهم) and gave 3,000 to his own son, Abdullah رضي الله عنه. Abdullah asked Umar (رضي الله عنهم) why he did this, to which Umar replied: “Zayd [i.e Ibn Haritha رضي الله عنه] was more beloved to our Messenger ﷺ than your father. Usama رضي الله عنه was more beloved to our Messenger ﷺ than you [i.e Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم]. I will prefer the Messenger’s ﷺ beloved over my beloved!”. Umar رضي الله عنه showcasing the peak of iman - loving our Messenger’s ﷺ family over his own. Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم: “Speak often of Umar, for you will mention justice. When you mention justice, you mention Allah (s.w.t)”. Aisha (رضي الله عنها): “Beautify your gatherings with salaam upon the Messenger ﷺ, and by speaking of Umar رضي الله عن…

1 S13 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Aisha رضي الله عنها was the one to give the advice to Umar رضي الله عنه, and he wept profusely. 30:21
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S13) Umar رضي الله عنه saw some companions wearing white Khurasan cloth after conquering the Persians. He did not speak to them. They were confused. Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم elucidated: “He did so, as you wore clothing that the Messenger ﷺ nor Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه ever wore”. The companions رضي الله عنهم then changed their garments, and Umar رضي الله عنه greeted each and everyone indivually. When the spoils of war were brought to Umar, he noticed a sweet dish and took a bit. He (رضي الله عنه) said: “For this, sons will kill fathers, and brothers will kill brothers”. He then distributed it to the children of companions who were martyred in the lifetime of our Messenger ﷺ. A group amongst the companions/tabi’een stated that Umar رضي الله عنه should have a better style of clothing - as Islam had now spread globally and should delegations arrive, he should look the part, as a form of dawah. Two people were suggested to advise him; Ali and Hafsah (a.s) - both of which knew it was no easy task. Aisha رضي الله عنها was the one to give the advice to Umar رضي الله عنه, and he wept profusely. “I have the perfect example to follow! My 2 companions [our Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه]”. Both of which took nothing from this Duniya. Our messenger ﷺ: “Some of my companions are knocking on the door to prophethood” - Umar رضي الله عنه being a prominent example of such praise!…

1 S12 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Why the blessed mushaf was given to our mother, Hafsah رضي الله عنها. 32:36
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S12) In Abu Bakr’s (رضي الله عنه) khilafat, the wars of apostasy took place - many hufadh were martyred so Umar رضي الله عنه suggested that a mushaf be compiled. Zayd Ibn Thaabit رضي الله عنه was given the task of this compilation. The mushaf was first with Abu Bakr, then it went to Umar, then our mother Hafsah رضي الله عنهم. She kept it for 20 years until she passed away. Why was it given to Hafsah and not Uthman (رضي الله عنهم) - as after Umar رضي الله عنه was martyred, there was 3 days before Uthman رضي الله عنه was elected as the new caliph - thus the blessed mushaf was given to our mother, Hafsah رضي الله عنها.…

1 S11 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Witness are needed when calling for a divorce or when calling the woman back 33:55
Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S11) In the case of a revocable divorce; only the husband can take back the woman during the iddah (Surah 2:228) However, after the iddah, if the husband wants the woman back, he must go through the entire marriage procedure again - I.e Nikkah, Mahr etc. Witness are needed when calling for a divorce or when calling the woman back - not having any witnesses means you have left the sunnah, however the divorce is still valid. The sunnah time to call for divorce should be when the woman is not menstruating, and when the man has not been intimate with her - a mercy from Allah (s.w.t) - so as to not be rash and act on emotion. Just as our Messenger’s ﷺ love increased for Abdullah Ibn Um Mukhtoom رضي الله عنه after the Surah Abasa situation, his ﷺ love increased for Hafsah رضي الله عنها when he took her back after divorcing her. She along with Aisha رضي الله عنهم were the ones to look after our Messenger ﷺ when he was ill at the end of his life. Although Aisha and Hafsah رضي الله عنهم were young when the greatest of creation ﷺ left this world - Allah (s.w.t) still gave them the status of being mothers… of the believers!
