What If: Herding Cats - Featuring Joshua Silverman
Manage episode 354120856 series 3403123
Hello, and Welcome to the What If: South is Up? The podcast where we invite you along with us as we learn to wing it like an author. We are Derrick Hall and C. X. Lefebvre - Two new-to-the-game fantasy authors taking our first steps into the great unknown of creating worlds from scratch.
This week we welcome our first guest to the show! Joshua Silverman is a programmer by day and writer by night and is currently working on an epic fantasy novel inspired by Jewish folklore entitled The Grafter. Early in the show, we take time to get to know him, and his inspirations and learn a little about the project.
We continue with 'Darlings: Dead or Alive' in which we each share a favorite line that we have written, but are allowed no explanation or context. Derrick explains words, Xtina hints at something big, and Joshua shares the opening line of his book.
In our game of What if? we ask 'What if dragons were the size of house cats and just as common?' and digress mightily.
Derrick is a working photographer and author of the Crimson Prophecy series, consisting of The Trials of Tiarsus (Available now!) and Qetran Odyssey (Available Now!). He can be found at his website www.DerrickHallAuthor.com.
Christina "Xtina" Lefebvre is an assemblage artist and aspiring author currently writing her first novel 'Cogs & Arrows' and can be found at www.UniquelyXtina.com.
