Commissioner Sheena Britton of district one is a fourth generation Sanford native. Sheena Britton’s roots run deep in the community. Born and raised in historic downtown Sanford, she has lived in the city for 42 years carrying forward a family legacy that dates back to the 1800s . She is married to Tom Morris. Sheena is a proud mother of three daughters Kiya, Haley and Terri. He oldest daughter is a graduate of HBCU Harriet Bethune Cookman University. Her middle daughter is a junior at HBCU Florida A&M University and her youngest is at Seminole State. She transitioned from being an appointed commissioner to an elect one being the first elected, black commissioner of district one.
