· breakthrough - "an act of breaking through an obstacle or restriction;
a military offensive that penetrates an enemy's lines of defense; a
major achievement or success that permits further progress"
I. We Were Saved To:
1. be mightily used of God! Matthew 5:13-15
2. bring glory to God! Matthew 5:16
3. love him with all our hearts and with all our souls and with all our
minds. Matthew 22:37
4. to follow the Lord and be fishers of men. Mark 1:17
5. love one another. John 13:34
6. be happy givers. Acts 20:35
7. be supernaturally/radically changed by God! 2 Corinthians 5:17-18
8. live by the Spirit, and not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
Galatians 5:16
9. be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other.
Ephesians 4:32
10. make confident progress because of God! Philippians 1:6
11. set our hearts on things above. Colossians 3:1-2
12. be humble before Him and one another. 1 Peter 5: 5-6
· God's purpose for our salvation will only be experienced if we learn
to think humility, because, "God opposes the proud, but gives
grace to the humble." Proverbs 3:34; James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5
