Today we have Dr. Laura Knudson on the podcast! Dr. Knudson’s specialty is family medicine, specializing in Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy and transcompetent care, eating disorders, gynecological health, contraception, and minor procedures at the Indiana University Student Health Center. She is the founder and current chair of the Gender Affirming Care Team at Indiana University’s Student Health Center. She attended medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School and her residency at the University of Utah Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Topics of discussion include: family medicine in rural areas; pandemic preparedness as a medical journalist in the early 2000s; the importance of community-focused care and the diminishing of caring for one's neighbor; her journey through creating the Gender Affirming Care Team at Indiana University; importance of gynecological care; coparenting during the pandemic.
