In today's episode, El Rey Chakal, or simply Rey, joins us from his sewing workshop in Santa Cruz Amilpas. He shares with us his unique queer journey that defies some common understandings of being a queer person, including not having a coming-out story. Rey provides a critical view of how sexuality in Oaxaca is understood. And he also explores discrimination and queer life in both Mexico City and Oaxaca and the importance of religion as well as the many forms of queer sexual violence in Mexico.
