Elon Musk made the whole world aware of the possibilities regarding simulation theory, and the potential of us actually living in a simulated reality right now. Here are the 3 options: 1) humans go extinct before we are able to run a simulation of this size. 2) Humans are uninterested in running ancestor-simulations due to ethical reasons. 3) We are currently participating in the simulation. Given how many simulated realities there are likely to be, it is probable that the 3rd option is true: we are currently participating in the simulation.
