Michael Veksel is a director, producer and editor based out of Tel Aviv, Israel. His groundbreaking documentary, "In the Same Boat" (Arvut Production, 2024), tells the remarkable and inspiring stories of five Arab-Israeli heroes and some of the Jewish Nova Festival survivors they saved from the October 7 Hamas terrorist massacre.
The film is a powerful amalgamation of the trauma and the hope of a nation, all melted together.
All of the heroes are Arabs, but they are also proud Israelis. Theirs is a story not often told. "In the Same Boat" profoundly depicts their bravery and their sadness, their strength and brokenness. All ending on such a beautiful note.

Michael Veksel is an Israeli filmmaker whose most recent documentary, "In the Same Boat," premiered in Tel Aviv on October 7th, 2024, on the one year anniversary of the 10/7 massacre. The movie shares the courageous stories of five Arab Israeli citizens who risked their own lives to save others during the Hamas terror attack.For the last decade, Veksel has run a small video production company in Tel Aviv concentrated mostly on commercial projects. But as the world went off the rails, he found himself working on such painful topics as protests in Belarus, the war in Ukraine, and of course, October 7 and the subsequent war in Israel.
