Mini Monday PD: Understanding
Manage episode 273437165 series 2798646
To be a powerful virtual teacher, sometimes it means understanding the unknown. Sometimes it means that you show grace to families experiencing the indescribable. What it does not mean is that you lower your expectations for every excuse under the sun. Hold true to your expectations but maybe show grace to those who need it the most.
Furthermore, to be a powerful virtual teacher, we need to understand how to take our students a deeper level of knowledge. When it comes to learning, I never want to be the ceiling. We must do our part to learn the types of questionings for our content to support our students. If our students want to be among the starts, we should never be the reason they miss the target.
If your admin hasn't already pointed you in the direction of DOK Marzano, let me be the first to introduce you. This is one of the better charts I've found but you may also want to locate the book The Handbook for the New Art and Science of Teaching by Robert J. Marzano
