РЕКЛАМА
When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. ×In this Thankful Thursday radio show replay titled “Consistency Creates Opportunities,” host Juma Salim discusses how being faithful in your daily actions, even when progress isn’t immediately visible, plants the seeds for future success. Using scriptures like 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV) to emphasize steadfastness to highlight the profit of hard work. Whether you’re praying for a breakthrough, developing a new skill, or simply trying to remain faithful in life’s daily grind, this episode serves as a reminder: consistency is an investment that God honors in due time.…
In this Worship Wednesday replay titled “Congratulations, You’ve Been Promoted,” host Juma Salim dives into how God’s correction is never meant to crush us but rather position us for greater Kingdom responsibility. Grounded in the principle that true promotion isn’t just about perks or tangible benefits, we explore how embracing God’s discipline opens doors to serve at a higher capacity. Scriptures like Luke 16:10 (being faithful with little), Galatians 6:9–10 (doing good to others), and Colossians 3:23 (working for God’s glory), we learn that every promotion requires deeper humility, accountability, and a commitment to blessing others. If you’ve been wrestling with feelings of correction or wondering why God is stretching you, this episode will help you see your circumstances as part of God’s strategic plan to elevate you, not just in title, but in influence for His glory.…
In this Testimony Tuesday replay entitled “It Won’t Be Easy,” host Juma Salim explores the truth that genuine winning requires dedication, persistence, daily habits, and a strong mindset that shapes our perception. He distinguishes the difference between loss, which is a single setback, and defeat, which is a mindset that surrenders to adversity. Juma emphasizes the importance of renewing your mind, staying in the fight, and refusing to lose hope when life hits hard. Whether facing a career failure or a personal disappointment, remember: a temporary loss doesn’t define you, and with God’s help, you can rise stronger every time.…
In this MindShift Monday radio show replay entitled “Get Out of Your Feelings,” host Juma Salim discusses why life’s inevitable failures shouldn’t trap us in a cycle of negative emotions. Grounding our conversation in Proverbs 24:16 (NIV), we highlight that although the righteous may stumble many times, they continually rise again. Our feelings can be deceptive, leading to unwise decisions. Instead, learning to pause, pray, seek counsel, and see setbacks as lessons can transform challenges into catalysts for growth. If you’ve been struggling with disappointment or frustration, this radio show replay will inspire you to shift your mindset, trust God, and keep moving forward.…
In Episode 21, “The Turning Point,” host Juma Salim explores the timeless parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–32). Despite receiving his inheritance early, the son’s insistence on his way leads him to a devastating low point, feeding pigs and experiencing extreme need. When we lean on our understanding, it inevitably brings us to dead ends. But the story doesn’t end in desperation; a sudden realization leads the son to return to his father’s open arms, reminding us that God’s grace is always available when we repent and come home. Key scriptures like Isaiah 30:21, Proverbs 3:5–6, and Philippians 4:6–7 encourage us to follow God’s direction.…
In this Worship Wednesday replay titled “Let It Be,” host Juma Salim unpacks the concept of radical acceptance from a psychological and spiritual perspective. Real-life examples—such as coping with loss, chronic conditions, or workplace challenges, show how acceptance reduces suffering and fosters growth. Key scriptures like Proverbs 3:5–6, Isaiah 43:18–19, and Philippians 3:13–14 underscore the biblical call to trust God, release past burdens, and embrace the future He has for us. By letting go of what can’t be changed, we invite God’s transformative power into our lives, discovering greater peace and a renewed sense of purpose.…
In Episode 20 of The Roar of Judah podcast entitled “The Dreamer,” host Juma Salim dives into Genesis 37 (KJV) to examine Joseph’s life and the lessons we can learn about guarding our dreams, navigating betrayal, and trusting God’s higher purpose. We see how Joseph’s brothers tried to stifle his destiny by throwing him into a pit and selling him for silver, an act reminiscent of Jesus’ betrayal. Their envy and hatred meant they would rather see Joseph disadvantaged than successful. Yet, through all the setbacks, God orchestrated Joseph’s journey from the pit to prominence, reminding us that no struggle is ever wasted. If you’ve faced opposition or betrayal, this episode will encourage you to remain patient (James 1:4), trust wholeheartedly in God’s plan (Proverbs 3:5–6), and rest in the assurance that He will bring you to your “expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).…
In this episode, “Strength For The Fight,” we examine Exodus 17:11–13, where Moses, with help from Aaron and Hur, kept his arms raised so Israel could triumph in a prolonged battle. We discuss the importance of having a supportive circle during our toughest struggles, reminding listeners that no one can stand alone forever. God not only grants us victory but also provides the people who hold us up when we grow weary.…
