Episode 260 Part 1: Zager & Evans
Manage episode 462189518 series 2477676
Hey Guys! I know it's a little late to say Happy New Year since we are almost done with January but this is the first new episode of the year for this free version of this podcast. I know that the start of this year was rough for many people, and where I live in Los Angeles, it's especially hard because we were recently hit with some natural disasters if you didn't already know, but I have a feeling that the weather conditions out here will be on our favor very soon & we will get out of this sooner than later. so to kick off this year, I decide to tackle a song that you may or may not like, but the lyrics are definitely a stark but somewhat accurate prediction of the future. I hate to start the year off with something bleak, but I thought this would be a good song to do a somewhat social commentary on but not get too much in the weeds of that. here's the link to this week's song just in case you want to listen to it:

hey guys. I know donating to an art project is an ESPECIALLY hard thing to do right now, because so many people are donating to organizations that are helping out so many unfortunate people who lost everything in the recent Wildfires in Los Angeles. but I think supporting art is a good thing cause art brings people together & people connect to art on such a deep emotional level (especially brutally honest art) so if you want to help a brotha out with that, here's where you can do that:
https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-past-the-present-my-imagination-ep
also, I know that signing up for a subscription is difficult to do as well. but with so much hate and negativity out there in the world (the biggest social media platforms out there currently are run by the worst people on the planet) I think it's good idea to escape from all of that into trivia & learn about so many great records from the people who made them. here's where you can do that:
https://themillennialthrowbackmachine.supercast.com/
also, if you guys want to keep track of all of the songs I talk about on my podcast, here's where you can do that:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj
also, if you would like to help a brotha out by supporting my podcast in another way besides signing up for the premium subscription version of my podcast. you can definitely get a merch item from my store. here's how you can do that:
https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/158056341
also, please stream my last project as well. I may not be affected by the fires but I could still use your help with getting my songs more exposure. it's really hard to cut through the noise on the streaming services for independent artists & bands, but if you stream my stuff & share it with your friends, you can definitely help me do that. here's the link to it right here:
