Today as part of celebrating the start of Make Music Income two years ago this week, we will redefine one of the core elements of this channel. In fact, in my anniversary video I just released this week “8 Ways to Make Music Income,” I kind of alluded to this in that video. We’ve been using a term that Steve and I have been debating what to call it for literally years. When I started this channel, “stock music” was a hot topic. In fact, I owe much of the success to my friends and YouTubers like Daniel Carrizalez and of course Mr. Steve B. Whose channels talked quite a bit about this non-exclusive cousin to exclusive sync licensing/production music for film and TV. Well, I’ve decided it’s time for a name change for the infamous “stock music” which is not a bad term or name for what it is. But the type of music we refer to as stock music can be used for so many things including Spotify and DSPs, Beat sales, Gaming music, incomes from other things like overhead music and other non-exclusive uses, it’s time we just rename it.
