Deferred maintenance refers to necessary maintenance, repairs and upgrades or replacements that are put on hold until some time in the future. If you fail to make these investments on a property, like your home or another investment property, you not only risk the value of the asset decreasing but also paying more for the damage that is caused by the negligence. The same is true in our lives. It is expedient that we invest in the various "rooms" of our lives on a regular basis so that we don't end up with heavy losses and inadequate living conditions.
