For the latest episode of the pod, I sat down with Hiet aka HietGotBARS @hiet877 on IG. He talked about his origins, R&B music, and growing up in Southern California. He talked about the differences between the culture in SoCal vs the gangbang culture of SoCal. He also talked about staying true versus staying alive, and how important it is to keep positive, like minded individuals around you--even if they're not from your hometown.

He talked about how he started writing songs when he was around 19 years old, and how he learned everything there is to know about recording in a studio by working as an engineer.

We discussed living in Humboldt County: what it offers artistically, how it's set to change with Cal Poly Humboldt growing the area, how this county can feel like one giant time capsule, and how that actually makes it an untapped resource.

Hiet got into some of his music, and his visits to the Fatbol Cypher, where he goes in and doesn't pull any punches.
