About Episode
Despite fighting against it and even pursuing another career path Mike Ashcraft found himself stepping into pastoral leadership in his 20’s. While his dreams were to build and create as it related to architecture. God would show him that building a church and creating a framework for God to work, was the greatest architectural work he could do. It has been Mike’s years as a dreamer and a follower of Christ that have shaped him into the leader and spiritual mentor he is today. His title is Senior Pastor at Port City Community Church in Wilmington, NC but he prefers the title of husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. This conversation will remind you that not all sacred work is in the church and pastors are human too.
- Being faithful in the small things is walking out in faith.
- Finding joy and contentment in every season of life is essential.
- Bargaining with God is a common experience, but it's important to trust His plan.
- When we bargain with God it is because we cannot trust that he has what is best for us
- We are all human including those with church titles such as pastors, priests, deacons etc.
- Insecurities and fear are normal, but they shouldn't hold us back from following our calling. Recognize the voice of the enemy and choose to trust in God's provision.
- The church has a role in economic development and should value every individual's vocation.
- Not every job should be within the church, but all work can be sacred
- Kindness and compassion are powerful tools in creating a strong and welcoming community.
