Today on the podcast we have the privilege to have The Queen of “B” basketball Jen Greeny, aka Jennifer Stinson on with us today. Jen is the Washington State University Volleyball Coach.

Jen started high school in Davenport in 1991. By the time she left Davenport.

· The Lady Gorilla basketball team record was 111-9, with state championships in 1992 and 1993, 2nd in 1994 and 3rdin 1995.

· She scored 2,881 points in her high school career, which at the time was the record for girl’s high school basketball, which was recently broke by Cashmere’s Hailey Van Lith.

· Her 421 state tournament points in 16 games are still a record today at State B.

· Scored 43 points in her final game, tying the school record set by fellow Davenport teammate Stacia Marriott (Soliday)

· Jen was not only a basketball player but a stellar volleyball player, leading Davenport to the 1994 State B Volleyball Championship.

· Greeny was also the 3-time State B High Jump champion in track.

After high school, she accepted a volleyball scholarship from Washington State University, where she excelled as a student-athlete. At WSU, she became the 7th player in school history with 1,000 kills.

A three-time all-Pac-10 Conference selection, Greeny’s other stats are prominent in WSU’s all-time career lists, ranking 4th in block assists (360), 4th in total blocks (419), 6th in solo blocks (59).

Greeny also excelled in the classroom where she was WSU Athlete of the Year in 1998-99. She was a Pac-10 Volleyball All-Academic selection three times. Greeny received her bachelor’s degree in education from WSU in 1999.

After her college playing career ended, Greeny knew she wanted to coach. Greeny spent the next 4 ½ years on Cindy Frederick’s bench with the WSU volleyball coaching staff. Greeny’s been involved in 10 of the 14 seasons that WSU Cougar Volleyball has qualified for the postseason.

Greeny left WSU to become the Head Volleyball Coach at Pullman High School for three seasons. Then Greeny began her collegiate head coaching career at Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho from 2007-2010 where she went an incredible 112-24 in that time span, turning the Warriors into one of the premier NAIA teams.

After her success at Lewis-Clark State, in March 2011, Greeny became the 12th coach in the history of the Cougars Volleyball history, Greeny just completed her 9thyear as the Head Cougar and the best is yet to come for the Coug’s under Greeny’s leadership.

Greeny and her husband, Burdette, her assistant at WSU, have two daughters Lauren and Leah. She is a member of the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation. Jen and Burdette were honored with a City of Pullman Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame plaque in 2015; the 25th plaque in the Famous Sports Figures category which honors those who have a positive impact beyond Pullman High School or Washington State University.
