The secretary-general of the United Nations (UN) is deeply saddened to learn of the death of one member of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security and the injury of another when their UN vehicle was hit as they were on their way to the European hospital in Rafah on Monday, said Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for António Guterres.
In the past 24 hours, the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip has killed at least 82 people and injured 234, a significantly higher daily toll than those recorded in recent weeks, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Tuesday.
