Tina is a former enabler who went through abandonment recovery after my ex-husband abruptly left her after an argument. Her abandonment took over and she was in a tailspin. She didn’t tell anyone right away what happened and she looked for solutions to get her through it. She read an amazing book about abandonment and in it she mentioned the recovery. She reached out to a woman she had met a year earlier who runs a non-profit called The Gathering Lighthouse. She took her on as a student and she dove right in. It was amazing!! Laughing and crying simultaneously when she left her. She found out so much about me and how much pain, sadness, loneliness, guilt and shame she had carried inside her for so many years. Eating crap and not speaking up for herself. It’s liberating and freeing! She will continue to share and support anyone who is ready to heal. Living on the other side of a spouse with childhood sexual trauma was difficult. He always came first and she continued to sacrifice. Ultimately her fear of abandonment came true. Proud to say she worked through it, healed and she feels fantastic.
