This case was heard in court this month, October 2024, the media reported on the case which caused much interest, an unarmed black male being shot by an armed police officer in London. The last time such an event attracted so much attention in 2011, there was a week of rioting across the country.
To avoid a repetition, the authorities decided to charge the police officer with murder trying to defuse a reaction. When the case was heard in court, the officer was found not guilty and it seemed that mass demonstrations being planned may turn into disorder. However the criminal past of Chris Kaba was then released which seemed to change many people's attitude towards the shooting.
