Brandon Madrigal and I speak on about a time in our lives when we were young, dumb, and reckless. Doing what teenagers do we went to Macys to get some clothes and look fly. However, at the time I was not in a good place to be spending money. I most likely had none to spend and I was very temped to steal. Listen to the experience of how I ended up not being able to take anything valuable, but ended up taking a chocolate bar. That chocolate bar ended up costing more than i would have been able to spend at Macy's.
We speak about how life is as a first generation American. A lot of people are experiencing this transition in the U.S and can relate. Te culture change puts a barrier between a child and their parents.
We then move on to tell a story about how we used to drive underage, back and forth from Keyport, NJ. A town that is about an hour away from where my house was in Garfield. On the way to drop Brandon off our friends car breaks down and we end up having to push it on the turnpike.
We share stories like this, not to boast about how badass we were, or trying to be. We share these stories to give you an idea how we have evolved from being these reckless hopeless kids, into mature adults. We all do stupid things but the few bad decisions of a person should not define that person. We can all excel, and turn a bad situation into something inspiring, not only for others but for ones self.
Life is full of change, but always make sure you evolve to adapt!!
