Reflecting on Authenticity, Spirituality, and Art | Insights from My Conversation with Tyler Crabb
In this reflection video, I dive back into my conversation with abstract painter Tyler Crabb. Talking with Tyler sparked thoughts on what it means to truly be ourselves, especially in a world where we’re so often on display. I’m exploring the challenge of staying true to our own spirituality—even when it means going against the grain—and the freedom we can find in art, especially painting, where expression knows no boundaries.
During our chat, Tyler and I both shared insights on mental health, including mania and schizophrenia, which made me think about the diverse experiences within our minds and how we connect with others through them. We also discussed the complexity of faith and spirituality, especially the experience of connecting with people from different religious backgrounds. It’s a reminder of how expansive and inclusive a spiritual journey can be, and how valuable these moments of genuine exchange are.
If you’re interested in art, mental health, or navigating your own spiritual path, join me as I unpack these themes and share what resonated most deeply from my time with Tyler.
