In this episode, I have the privilege of speaking with Leonie, a pregnancy loss, bereavement and end- of-life doula. Leonie offers support to families who have experienced the loss of a child, however young, due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or at any time of life. Leonie's own experience of loss inspires her compassionate and intuitive manner to offer families 'permission to feel' in their own way, and at their own pace, embrace memories and love, understand grief and normalise their emotions. Leonie says, "As a Loss Doula and peer, I offer reassurance, support, and resources. I'm here to walk alongside you, holding space with empathy and understanding, during this difficult time". This episode is released on October 15, being Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day as my way of bringing awareness, remembrance and recognition to families who have loved and lost a child, and to bring light to the support available at such a sensitive time.
