Golden Age OTR January 15, 2006 Long before our Country Music Format we did a Golden Age of Radio format. This was just before we announced our first retirement from podcasting. We begin with Jo Stafford and Gordon Macrae – Say Something Sweet To Your Sweetheart. Dave gives a weather report in the northern hemisphere, and comments that Tim Gaynor is experiencing Summer in The Land Down Under. Dave mentions his listeners and their weather. Chick Webb is next with “I want to be happy But I won't be happy Till I make you happy”. Next is The Morning After" (Song from The Poseidon Adventure) by Maureen Mcgovern. Dave mentions that Shelly Winters just passed away recently. Next is It a popular Dutch radio big band in the 1930s and 1940s and instrumental in popularizing jazz music in the Low Countries – The Ramblers. Well, All Right · The Andrews Sisters is next. Not much country music, but we always found a way to fit it in. There He Goes (Duet with John Berry) by Patsy Cline. That's the first 30 minutes, there's 100 more minutes to go. They were forgotten by The Country Music Industry, Country Radio, and even The Grand Ole Opry – Pioneers of Country proudly remember those artists, and the music they made popular. Special Note: Most of the E-Mail, chat room, and web sites mentioned no longer exist. Your best bet to keep in contact with Pioneers Of Country is on Pod-O-Matic or on our Facebook Page. You can now follow Pioneers of Country on Spotify!
