One of the finest seasons on the Sanibel & Captiva Islands has just recently come to an end. The holiday season on the island is a fantastic time to visit our little slice of paradise for a number of reasons. Today, we'll discuss some of the events that make our island such a wonderful holiday destination!

We kicked off the holiday season right after Thanksgiving by going to Captiva for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. We went there, spent time with family, and enjoyed the amazing fireworks display after the tree had been lit. The kids loved it and so did we!

This last year was the first time McCallion & McCallion had an office of our own. Because we finally have our own office, we were able to participate in Luminary Night! All along the paths in Sanibel, luminary candles are lit for miles and miles. Thousands of people come to walk the luminary path and many businesses participate by contributing lights of their own. We even hosted a party!

Every year, we host a Christmas Eve service on Lighthouse Beach, and people come to the island specifically to be here for it. It's a short service that takes place at sunset. Once the sun sets, we finish off the service by singing "Silent Night" and lighting candles. It's truly a beautiful service.
