They discuss his latest book entitled, The Contest over National Security: FDR, Conservatives, and the Struggle to Claim the Most Powerful Phrase in American Politics. Professor Roady outlines the policy and political philosophy that guided FRD’s view of U.S. National Security not only militarily, but politically and economically. He also describes the conservative response to FDR’s national security and economic polices, and how this backlash has shaped U.S. National Security policy to this day.
