Within a short time span the Neubauers grew from a comfortable family of 4 in NW Indiana, to a homeschooling, traveling family of 8. They followed the Lord's leading from the United States to Guatemala to a 40 acre farm where Mike experienced an accident that "should have" taken his life. What happens when you think you have a plan, but life pivots? Much like the classic scene from Friends - you move with it. For Doug and Kristen Bakker that's exactly what happened. Doug went in for a routine surgery on May 31, 2022 and their lives were uprooted. Kristen became full-time caretaker and Doug began to fight for his basics needs. Through this struggle Kristen's faith was strengthened and she tells her story from the perspective of a caretaker. As of this recording the Bakkers are waiting to adopt a service dog for Doug.
