SERMON NOTES: - The Armor of God - Ephesians 6:10-15 - Ephesians 6:14 1. The breastplate symbolizes the righteousness of Christ - 1 Corinthians 1:30 - Romans 8:1–4 - Romans 8:1 - This is important: at the moment of salvation we become Positionally Righteous in Jesus Christ! 2. The Breastplate of Righteousness also symbolizes the Christian’s righteousness
- Sanctification: It is becoming in practice what you already are in position - 3 stages in salvation:
Regeneration when you are saved and receive Christ’s righteousness!
Sanctification the ongoing transformation and spiritual growth you have as you live out your new position in Christ!
Glorification when you are made complete in Christ in heaven. - 1 John 6:6–7 - 1 John 3:10 - 1 Timothy 6:11 3. The Breastplate symbolizes consistent righteousness - Ephesians 6:14 4. This Breastplate of Righteousness symbolizes controlled righteousness - It is your love for God that will dictate the things you will do and the things you won’t do!
