In this episode of Weather Ready Farms, Dr. Dave Aiken, an expert in water law from UNL's Agricultural Economics department joins to talk about how reading Paul Ehrlich's book "Population Bomb" got him interested in what was a novel field (environmental law) in the early 1970's, how a trip to the South Plains of Texas in 1976 influenced groundwater regulation in Nebraska, how the NRD's have been leaders in groundwater management, and how climate change will ultimately be the biggest challenge irrigated producers and regulators will face in the coming decades.
